I, Kody Ashworth, will keep a record of all Creatures (Magical or Mundane) that I come across and any observations I make about them. List will be kept in alphabetical order. May also contain bad art by Kody Ashworth.
Rating is a danger scale of how dangerous I think the creature is from 1 - 10! Which can be for any number of reasons that I won't explain here, sorry~
A cute mouse who lives under my bed! He's very friendly when Reena isn't around but he's smart enough to hide when she's in the room. His favourite treats are cheese crumbs and digestive biscuits and he doesn't like potato. I've also seen him outside the house, in the garden from time to time, but he seems to be able to come inside as he pleases. If Reena catches me feeding him again, she'll be big mad. Gotta keep bedroom mouse secret and safe.
They seem to like shady spots to hide in (e.g. under a stone bench) and can move quite quickly, which makes catching them hard. Sometimes, if you're really lucky, it's possible to see two of them together. They'll be fighting with their big pinchers! If you try to catch one, however, the second one will get away. They're impressive bugs though, very cool. I'd love to try and find more sometime and highly recommend having a container to put them in!
Name: Choir Frog Rating: ★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Common Frog(?) | Professor Riveria's Office
Observed during the Welcome Feast. These amazing frogs are quite large and sport bow ties! They're also super smart, being able to sing along to a song and keep in tune! Suspect some of them are more talented than the people who are singing with them... Do you think Professor Rivera would allow me to meet one face to face without joining the choir? I'd love to check them out up close!
Name: Delivery Owls Rating: ★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Various Owls | Owlery
Can be seen every morning at breakfast, they're very smart creatures who can deliver all kinds of mail. Most of them roost at the Owlery here at school so I definitely want to visit and observe them up close again! Some of them probably belong to families or the Post Office in Hogsmeade and return home to roost. Owls prefer all kinds of animals to eat but it can be okay to give them some chicken or beef.
#2 Update - I was able to visit the Owlery this afternoon and check out more owls. It seems they really like their sleep and being disturbed is a criminal offence. If you're lucky, however, you can find a stray feather. They can be used as potion ingredients! Aren't owls awesome? I want to go back with a snack for them, to thank them for their help.
Name: Frogspawn Rating: ★☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Frog eggs| Great Lake
Not much to say about these. I count them as creatures since they are technically alive! The best way to gather some is to scoop really slow with something to put them in and then they can go into your Potions Kit. Can be used for a beanstalk potion (which seems fun) or a bubble-head potion (which I want to make)!
Name: Ginger Cat Rating: ★★★★☆☆☆☆☆☆ House cat | At Home / Garden
Seems to be a very intelligent cat! Mum made some interesting remarks about him which are honestly just downright suspicious and now I want to find out more. He doesn't seem to show up very often but when he does, I try to give him some food. I don't think Reena likes him very much but I think he is handsome! I wonder if he belongs to someone? I haven't seen a collar on him but he's super friendly.
Name: Gormtoad Rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ Garden Pest | At Pumpkin Patch
I hate to admit this but... I think I'll feel better if I write about it here. These creatures are invasive and destructive, especially to magical gardens. I wonder if they thrive off the magic being used. Anyway, The only way to deal with them is to behead them AND YES, I did that!! I feel bad but... yeah. It's messy. I'm sorry Gormtoad. I hope you're in a better place now.
