Gerald cast an offensive spell (score: 4), which overpowers Ruby's defensive spell (score: 1). Ruby - free-rp the outcome of your choice. Gerald wins the round and then the match.

Ryan clapped for them both.
'Way to go, Gerald.' He grinned, then gave Ruby a smile too as she'd fought well. 'Want to duel me next?' he asked her. Ryan knew things were dwindling down, but wanted to get at least one more duel in if he could.
Ruby had lost and, while he had no intention of letting someone win unfairly, he thought she might like a chance to try and win this time. He headed to the duelling area, determined to duel someone but hoped Ruby would accept.
'You can go first, if you want,' Ryan said. 'I need to work on my defence.'

Grace jogged over to Ruby, ready to help her up. As much as she would've liked to duel more, she also wanted to collect some of that honey that she and Gerald would be needing. Ryan and Ruby kept practicing their dueling skills while they went to go get the honey.
"See you guys later!" she smiled cheerfully, then left to follow Gerald.
Rubes allowed Grace to help get to her feet. It seemed that she, like Ryan, needed to work more on her defence techniques. "See you later."
Heading back to the duelling area, Rubes prepared herself for another bout of spell-casting. Facing Ryan, she raised her wand and fired a spell at him. Hopefully, she'd win the duel this time.
Duel Void Clause enacted.Ruby took longer than 3 days to cast a spell (and was informed to edit her post), so the duel has ended in a tie. No rewards were given. As lunch is now in progress, new duels shouldn't be started in this thread.

It ended in a tie. Ryan had hoped to win, but supposed it was better than losing. He wiped his forehead with his sleep, feeling rather worn out after spending most of his morning duelling. He had worked up quite an appetite too.
'I think it's time for lunch,' Ryan said, putting his wand away. 'Thanks for the duel, Ruby. This was fun. See you at flying lessons later?' He'd have asked if she wanted to walk to the Great Hall with him, but Ryan needed to stop by his common room first so that wouldn't work.
He gave her a friendly wave and hurried out of the chamber, now looking forward to feasting after having worked so hard. He was proud of his progress though, and really hoped they could all duel again sometime. It wasn't often Ryan had something he was good at or felt proud of, so duelling was already becoming one of this favourite things.
