Seeing as there was not much else to do, and Grace had enjoyed duelling earlier, she thought she'd stop by to see if anybody was practicing at the moment. She could be anxiously waiting to fly a broom, but that didn't really suit her, even if she did plan on trying out to be one of Gryffindor's beaters, if there was a space for her. She did think her wandwork could always use more practice, and she was open to others joining her.
Looking for something to do, Rubes wandered into the Duelling chamber. It wasn't a room she'd ever been in before, so it was a place that was open to investigation.
Glancing around, she noticed another girl, probably also a first year. The colours and emblem on her robes told Rubes this girl was a Gryffindor.
"Hi, there! My name'sRuby. You want tohave a duelwith me?"

"Sure!" Grace said. It was much more interesting to duel a person than it was to duel a dummy. "I'm Grace. Nice to meet you, Ruby!" she didn't know Ruby, other than she had been in classes with her, but dueling was always fun. She got ready to duel, and said, "You should cast first!"
"Cool, niceto meetyou, too!" Rubes pulled her wand from her pocket. "Let's see whatthis wandcan do!"
Ruby had never participated in a duel before, so she wasn't quite sure how good she'd be, but she was willing to give it a go. Gearing herself up, Rubes cast a spell at Grace.

Luckily, Ryan and Gerald had left the Great Hall soon after Grace so were able to figure out where she went. Not without several wrong turns and incorrect theories, though. Eventually, they found the duel chamber.
'Wow.' Ryan gasped, watching as Grace and Ruby duelled. He'd never seen magic used in combat before, and hadn't realised that was a thing. Of course, it made a lot more sense now he thought about it. He was wary yet intrigued, though kept a safe distance away.
He moved to sit on a bench, not greeting the girls in case he distracted them or something. He'd say hello and ask about it once they were finished. Ryan shifted over so there was room on his bench for Gerald too. Hr leaned his back against the stone wall, though his rapt interest remained on the duel. He couldn't be sure how long they'd been at it yet, but it seemed Ruby was winning so far.

Rubes was having fun and was surprised by the fact that she was actually winning a duel. Grinning, she stepped back and waited for Grace to cast her next spell.

Grace was still having fun, even if it appeared she was losing. She cast a spell at Ruby, hoping that she would actually do something this time, not because she wanted to hurt Ruby but because she liked to win things.

Grace cast a spell at Ruby, knowing the other girl was close to winning. She had to at least try, even if she wasn't getting it perfectly. She knew Ryan, at least, was watching, and assumed Gerald was also, or would be soon.
Grace cast an offensive spell (score:3), but Ruby’s defensive spell (score: 5) overpowers it. Grace - free-rp the outcome of your choice. Ruby wins the round and then the match.
