He'd made it. When Gerald stepped into the final square and it wasn't a black one, he could jump free onto the regular part of the floor. The squares disappeared into the regular stone floor of Hogwarts that he was used to, as if nothing had happened.
Now he faced the door to proceed. It wasn't even locked.
Inside was big but it was hard to tell how empty it was as it was dimly-lit, yet he couldn't tell where the light came from. In the middle of the room was a sleeping beast that looked rather ancient. It resembled a massive, scaly bear with curved tusks and had three eyes.
He had made it. Breathing a sigh of relief, he took a moment to calm down, before jumping onto the normal floor. That was actually an alright puzzle. Had him scratching his head for a while.
Stepping to the door, he went to open it, and looking beyond, eagerly stepped through, excited to see what lay beyond.
What was on the oher side of the door wasn't what he expected though. It was a Magic Bear thing. Stepping into the room, he tried to figure out if it was alive or just a statue. Hopefully he didn't have to fight it. It wasn't a big Spider, so he had no way to defend himself. "Hello?"

His voice echoed a little bit, though it was clearly heard by the creature. It stretched and yawned, shaking its head as it sat up. Then its eyes landed on Gerald, who was very small by comparison, and the reaction was instant.
It snarled, whole body tense and ready to attack. Gerald had no choice than to flee and shut the door. In fact, just to be sure, he should keep going in case that door wasn't enough. He'd luckily have made it so long as he reacted fast. With the thudding of heavy paws chasing him.
The beast scratched and snarled at the closed door, which thankfully could be locked from the other side - in the room where the puzzle had been. Even if Gerald left the Room of Mirrors itself, emerging back into the corridor outside, he could faintly still hear the beast. After a while, the noise stopped. Whenever he did leave the room, the mirror-door would fade.
So...What now? He had a description of the creature, and an empty room with no clear way of what to do in it. Was it another puzzle or a cruel joke?
Mistakes have been made. Running in the Opposite direction, he internally began to yell at himself. Why would he speak to the Bear? Was exactly was he thinking? Of course the Bear wouldn't be the Most Friendly, it's a Bear!
Running back the Way he came, he closed the door and waited outside the Room of Mirrors. He could feel his heart pumping in his ears, but eventually, he began to settle. Why would the Parchment send him there? Was that Bear thousands of years old?
Regardless, he needed some plan. Trying to remember if he had seen a door or anything, he wondered if this required another Trip to the Library. Bears in Mirror Halls were too specific to not be suspicious, but maybe Hagrid Could Help? Maybe even Hathmore. He seemed alright.
Despite this, he was probably going to have to warn Grace about that thing.
