After her ordeal at the Boathouse, MJ felt a little drained. She had gone back to the Castle and got herself sorted but for some reason it just made the afternoon feel a lot longer than it was.
The ache in her shoulder didn't help.
With a determined scowl, however, she trudged towards the Expansive Lawn for the last ingredient she needed. MJ hadn't collected Jippi Seeds before but she had heard a housemate talking about it. Look for crows, they had advised their friend.
So that was what MJ did. She scanned both the lawn and the sky for any hint of the corvids. She quite liked crows and thought them to be very clever. Her Great-Auntie always spoiled the ones at their farm.
She said they were nicer than Magpies by far even if people thought the other to be prettier. MJ put her hands into her robe pockets to keep them warm as she continued her search.
Several crows gathered in the area; a good sign that Jippi Seeds were nearby. And sure enough, following the birds led one right to some. The crows needed to be scared off first, to then retrieve a handful. Best be quick, in case they call for backup.

There they were!
MJ approached slowly, however, and studied the group of crows. They were pecking at the ground and MJ spotted what they were eating. Bright orange seeds -- the ingredient she was searching for. There would be enough for a good handful of potion worthy seeds if she moved fast enough.
She knew she would need to scare off the crows but she felt bad about doing that.
If only she had something else to offer the crows in place of the seeds but MJ had thought to grab anything at lunchtime for this purpose. She had been preoccupied with having to get into the Lake for the Mercy's Lace...
Humming, she knew there was nothing else for it and she would just have to feel bad about scaring the birds.
"Please forgive me." MJ frowned, flapping her arms and charging into the middle of the crows. This had proved, over the years, very useful when it came to scaring pigeons and she hoped it would work on the crows as well.
The crows scattered, a few moving further than others and MJ ducked quickly to gather the seeds. She checked to make sure she only picked up the best quality ones and left behind any that weren't up to her standard.
Then she dashed away again, creating distance between herself and the group of crows again. Slipping her satchel off her shoulder, MJ opened it and then opened her Potions kit.
MJ glanced over her shoulder and saw that the crows were gathering again and... It seemed like there were more of them now! She hurried to store the seeds into her Potions Kit and packed everything up again.
The satchel was placed back onto her shoulder and she gave the crows a sheepish smile, "Sorry again!"
She dashed off and knew the final step was going to be the hardest.
