Despite missing yesterday's would-be Quidditch final, of which even the celebration dinner was cancelled, the entire school was buzzing with energy and chatter this bright, warm May morning. Some of that was the stress or sheer terror of exams being right around the corner, but most of it was because of a very special annual event taking place today.
Many 1st years were apprehensive at first, unsure why something relating to school grades and future careers could stir such excitement -- but news spread fast that Professor Rickard had gone all out this year. Perhaps it tied to the Education Reform enacted at the start of term, which was now paying off, or simply that the stars had aligned in their favour.
Literal stars, in terms of the influential and famous. Whispers spread that some pretty notable people were spotted headed to the Main Courtyard to set up booths or speak with Hogwarts staff -- as reported from students who'd taken the longer path to breakfast today, in hope of getting a peek at the event. Most of it was obscured, yet excitement only grew.
'No, I know it was her,' a 3rd year Ravenclaw could hardly stand still -- gushing about her discovery to her friends, by the doors of the Great Hall. Anyone who passed by was sure to overhear. 'It was Trailblazer Tammy Doyle, I'm sure of it. The best Chaser for the Ballycastle Bats! I can't believe she's here, at our school.'
Relief of no longer having any classes to attend only added to the atmosphere. Several OWL and NEWT students were still hard at work studying, but they would not be missing out on Career's Day. Their futures depended on it.
If anyone didn't know what Career's Day was, word got around fast. It was an annual Hogwarts-hosted event, in which several booths of main or focused careers were set up -- managed by recruiters who are well-versed in that career, typically because it's their own or they've been chosen as representative. There were other things to enjoy as well, but it varied each year.
But for now, they had to wait out breakfast. The event wasn't open until after Owl Post was delivered, no matter how keen or impatient one may be.
Career's Day and Exam Revision
When breakfast ends, a bunch of threads will be available at the Main Courtyard to highlight this event. It'll have a centric thread -- for hanging out, meeting up with friends or comparing notes, and various other RPing. Then there's a thread for each of the nine available booths. As well as a guide, providing a more detailed explanation of this event.
It's available to ALL students and ALL year levels -- however, it's mandatory for OWL and NEWT students. This is an all-day event; morning and afternoon timeslots are suspected this RPG day as it's simply Career's "Day". You can attend at your own pace, come / go as you please, or however you'd like to play it out.
Potions and COMC extra-curricular quests are open to 5th years and above who don't already have an E base grade in those classes, if you need such to proceed with it into next RPG year. All other modding is unavailable this RPG day, as the event has Hogwarts' entire focus.
This is also your FINAL RPG DAY for exam revision. When Career's Day ends (night is skipped this year), all class threads will be locked away and no longer readable. This is your last chance to make note of any information you require from them. Please ensure you do so, for your best chance of a high exam score. If you have more than one character, prioritise them oldest to youngest if you're concerned about time.

MJ had come down to breakfast early despite staying up late studying. She wasn't tired, however, as she was excited to see what Career's Day was going to be like.
As she entered the Great Hall and sat at her house table, she was a little disappointed to see nothing had changed. She did, without meaning to, overhear an older student talk about someone called Tammy, who was a Chaser and her face lit up.
A Quidditch person! A real-life, famous, playing for a league team Quidditch person was here!?
She wriggled excitedly in her seat and hoped Charlotte or Joe would appear soon so MJ could share this news. MJ had snuck out of the dorm just in case Charlotte was still asleep, as she hadn't wanted to accidentally wake her so early.
For now, she decided what she wanted for breakfast. Museli! And some toast and jam!
Amelia woke up in a daze, her notes were scattered around her and she still wore the cloths from the night before. She groaned at the whole idea of taking up, but rolled up everything and put it all away. She would likely not have time to study today, with it being Career Day. It took her a while, but she managed to pull herself from the bed and get moving. After a long shower, she refreshed herself and headed towards the Great Hall, putting her bag over her shoulder.
The chatter in the great hall was buzzing, she found her sleepy mind to be unable to process any of it, but she caught a few things. She could have sworn she heard someone mention Tammy Doyle, who she knew to be an amazing Chaser in the Quidditch World. Well, that would be very interesting to see.
Finding a place at her table, she glanced around for her siblings then settled to getting her needed breakfast.
Eggs... Sausage... Toast... Juice...
She yawned as she did her collecting, putting a bowl of fruit close by for easy pickings before she began the lazy job of eating. Eyes half closed as she did so.

After the best night of sleep that he had had in a while, Oscar woke up stretched out across his bed, a half finished doodle of a wispae stuck to his face.
It had taken him quite a bit of scrubbing to get the ink stains out, but he eventually managed it and made his way down to breakfast. His uniform neater than it had been for many breakfasts.
That was probably a good thing, what with it being the career day fair after breakfast. He could just imagine his Nonna nagging to make a good impression.
Oscar hummed a little tune as he sat down at the Hufflepuff table and prepared himself a nice breakfast. Yoghurt, fruit, and sprinkle of granola all in a bowl, before he treated himself to a little side plate with a pastry.
Content with the start of his day for once, Oscar tucked in to his food.

Lindsey had wasted little time getting to sleep when she could. After yesterday, she just needed to sleep. With the item back where it needed to be, she felt exhausted and after finishing the sketch for a few classes, she passed out and woke happier then she had felt in a while. Maybe that was all she needed? A good sleep?
She had braided her hair neatly and found a place at the Slytherin table. She glanced around her dormmates, Sinead and Reena, hoping that both might sit with her this morning. Once she was seated, she collected herself some hot porridge with sugar, berries, and some sausage. It was important to have a good breakfast. She stifled a yawn before she started to drink from her cup, smiling at the juice that had appeared there.
Her bag sat next to her, empty of all it's ingredients and ready to add anything gotten from Career Day.

Breakfast felt more exciting today - the whole school did, truth be told - and Thorne had prepared accordingly. He’d made sure his hair was combed neatly for once and that all the mud from his toadstool gather adventures had been cleaned from his shoes.
Career Day had already been on his radar but after Martha had mentioned it again last night he was really looking forward to it!
He hurried to the dining hall and nodded a greeting to Oscar before he slid into a seat, already eying the variety of foods and trying to decide what he even wanted today…
He finally decided on a crumpet - slathering it with butter and jam - and some bacon, wiggling a bit in his seat with excitement.
When MJ had left the dorm, she had finally allowed herself to finish getting ready. Charlotte had one more thing to practice before she let herself find any rest from studying. She was confident in her other notes, spells, and charms... Except for this one... The Seek Charm...
She looked over her notes and pulled out the map of Hogwarts she was given when she arrived. It was important to keep it handy, but she had put it inside her trunk when she had gotten familiar with the place of all her classes. Taking in a deep breath, she compared her notes and pulled out her wand.
"Pointus MJ," she said as she pointed the wand at the map. She felt her heart racing in her chest, her voice had wavered a little and nothing happened. She felt panicked and walked away for a moment. She was on the verge of tears! It still wasn't working! She tried to calm herself, closing her eyes and focusing on the spell and the map. "Pointus MJ!" she said it firmly this time, with more focus and determination.
The map began to glow and it wasn't the Great Hall, but not far from it! MJ was almost to breakfast and Charlotte had done it! A smile spread across her face bigger than anything before and without thinking or reasoning, she grabbed the map and her bag and ran out of the dorm. She didn't care about her rushing state, she wanted to tell MJ. When she took the last step onto the floor of the Great Hall, she hurried to the Great Hall and saw MJ sitting at their house table.
"MJ!" She called out, trying to make herself heard by her. "I did it! I did it!" She said as she stood there beaming. "The Seek Charm! It worked! After you left, I tried it and it worked! You were almost to the great hall, right here is where the map lite up!"

Why was the name Tammy Doyle so familiar to Martha? She had heard some excited Ravenclaws talking about her and frowned as she walked to the Hufflepuff table. That name was ringing a tiny bell in the back of her brain.
Well, if she didn't figure it out before breakfast was done, she was certain she would discover who she was during Career's day.
Martha smiled at Thorne, sitting opposite the first year, "Morning."
She set her book bag at her feet, hoping that she would have a chance to do some last minute studying today in between other things. Martha glanced over at the Gryffindor table and tried to catch Amelia's eye, waiting to give her sister a wave if she looked over.

MJ looked up at the sudden call of her name, worried for a moment but she immediately saw Charlotte. She rose out of her seat as her first concern was panic that something had happened to her friend.
But Charlotte was smiling and seemed really excited. "You what?"
It took a moment for Charlotte's words to sink in and then MJ jumped over the bench she sat on, leaving her breakfast as she hurried to her friend. "That's amazing! You're amazing! Can I give you a hug?"
She didn't want to presume that Charlotte would be okay with a hug out of nowhere but MJ wanted to celebrate this with her friend. She knew it was a big achievement for Charlotte and she was vibrating with excitement for her friend. "Oh my God, I'm so happy for you!"
The Seek Charm had been a big worry for her friend and MJ was glad now she had been able to cast it without worry.
Charlotte was beaming at MJ as she joined her in her celebration. She was sure to be getting some side glances from people. But some other first years in Ravenclaw might understand why she was so excited. Ezra could be one of those people, but she couldn't recall if it had been mentioned that she had a tough time with that spell.
When MJ asked if she could be hugged, Charlotte took a moment to process the request and then nodded. She let her friend embrace her and thought at first she was a little worried she would hate it, it was a comfort. She smiled over her friend's shoulder and when it ended, she sat down.
She did look to the Slytherin Table, searching for her brother and sister. She wanted to tell them the news too!

Sinead made her way down to the great hall. She had really enjoyed the lesson the night before even if she felt super tired. She had really enjoyed Care of Magical Creatures this year and planned to take it next year as well, providing she passed her exams. As she entered the great hall, she heard a ravenclaw gushing about someone called Tammy Doyle.
Sinead grinned, when she heard the name. After all the person was from her hometown quidditch team, the Ballycastle Bats, whom Sinead had supported all her life. She carried on into the hall and headed for the Slytherin table. She spotted Lindsey and made a beeline for her friend. Sinead's sister who was sat further down the table, noticed her sister sit down next to Lindsey and she smiled, it was good to see her sister coming out of her shell more. Sinead greeted Lindsey with a smile.
"Morning Lindsey." Sinead greeted the redhead with a bright smile.

Lindsey looked up when she heard someone shout and saw a first year rushing across towards her table. From there, the conversation with another was lost in the buzz of the whole Great Hall and Lindsey was quickly distracted by Sinead. When she joined her, she smiled brightly at her and finished chewing her own food.
"Good Mornin', Mo ghràdh," Lindsey said to her in greeting. "Everyone is quite chatty today," she said in general observation. She was glad to have someone to sit with her, but she did find herself searching for Reena for a moment.
"Are ye excited about Career Day?" Lindsey asked after she ate a strawberry.
Sinead glanced around for their other housemate Reena and noticed she was nowhere to be seen. It really felt like she was avoiding them lately which made Sinead feel sad as she liked Reena. She shook the thought from her mind and looked back to Lindsey. When Lindsey mentioned about everyone being chatty this morning, the girl glanced around again and realised she was right. The hall really was a lot livelier than normal.
"Eh? hmmm yeah I am actually quite excited about Careers day, which is probably why everyone is so chatty this morning. What about you?" Sinead said as she looked back to Lindsey.

"Aye, I think ye're right," Lindsey said as she sat there and watched a few people. The chatter about different people, the excitement on the faces of others. She was excited too, though she knew she wanted to be a healer. She supposed that looking at everything was a good idea. Maybe there was another career that caught her attention over Herbology and Healing? Though deep down, Lindsey doubted it, she was going to look anyway.
"What are ye hoping will be at Career Day?" It was not unknown what all would be there, but to be fair, Lindsey assumed that Healers would be represented. It would seem odd if they weren't gonna be there.
"Well I want to be a potions mistress one day so I am hoping that there will be potions related stuff there. Other than that, anything goes really as I haven't thought about other careers so it will be interesting to see what is out there. What about you have you had any thoughts on what you would like to do?" Sinead replied as she ate her breakfast. It was true, all she had ever dreamed about since being very young, was to be a potions mistress.
