Matt missed everyone at breakfast, having eaten earlier then loitered in the halls hoping to catch Nyx before her match but hadn't gotten there in time. Not sure what to do with himself, he'd taken his time to rejoin the general population.
Knowing people were probably headed to the pitch now, Matt went by the Great Hall in hope of catching Lucas before the betting was closed. He hurried over to him, relieved to see he still had a chance to show some support for his team and their awesome captain.
'Hey. I'd like to bet 30 Galleons on Ravenclaw to win,' Matt said, offering up the gold. 'And that Ravenclaw scores 3 goals.' He'd have gone higher, but knew it was only a 1st year playing for Chaser and didn't know anything about him yet.
He waited for confirmation, glancing at passerbys for anyone he recognised.

Ryan nodded to everything Toby said, but couldn't decide which idea was better. Then breakfast ended and they had even less time to come up with something.
'I don't know,' he said, panicking. 'It'd take too long to change, and we don't have any paint or stuff.'
Having gone to so much effort for Toby's first match, Ryan felt like he was letting Joe down now. He deserved just as much support, but this time around they didn't have long to prepare something and it was harder with him and Toby being in different houses.
'I've got nothing.' Ryan sighed, dejected as he rose from his seat -- ready to head to the pitch. 'Maybe... maybe we should just cheer extra loud? Lots of noise and waving. You're great yelling stuff.' He nodded, deciding they'd just have to make do with what they had.
He turned and left the Great Hall, hurrying to the pitch so they could get started.

Jake shoveled food into his mouth, almost choking on his eggs. He gulped some juice, then turned in realisation that Amy was talking to him about something other than food.
'Hufflepuff, of course.' He scoffed, as if it was the only self-respecting choice to bet on. 'Only one I have friends in, anyway,' Jake added -- thinking of Lucky and Sophia.
He ignored the owls, only briefly glancing at headlines while he finished his breakfast. Lunch was passed over on these days so he had to make the most of it in order to survive until dinner. Jake grumbled as his food vanished and breakfast ended, eyeing his emptied plate mournfully.
'Let's go,' he said, jumping to his feet. Jake beckoned his housemates, then ran from the hall. He was full of energy, keeping pace most of the way and only slowly to stop himself falling down a hill.
Killed by Devin Kudosen by act of the Killing Curse. June #24, RPG year 1 -- he was a 5th year Gryffindor. Jacob died to save his best friend, Luckett Langford.

Lucas had a great smile. She wished h smiled more often...
Amara nodded as he accepted her bets, then turned to leave -- only to be stopped by him calling out to her. Intrigued, she glanced back and listened to what he had to say. She was immediately suspicious about an invitation to walk to the pitch together, especially as she'd expected to walk down with one of the girls from her dorm.
He wanted to ask her something? In private?
'Uh.' Amara frowned, tempted to say no just in uncertainly of what this was all about but nervous it was something important. 'Okay. I'm headed down now, though... if you're done here?' She didn't wait for him to finish, and left the Great Hall though at a pace he could catch up to.

Lucas wasn't sure he heard correctly when Amara agreed to walk with him, though was sidetracked from answering as Mathias chose that moment to place a bet.
'Yeah. Sure.' He quickly counted the gold and took notes, then gasped as Amara went to leave. 'That's all for now. The match is about to begin,' Lucas declared as he quickly packed everything up.
He hadn't missed the looks from various Professors, especially McGonagall, but was used to that by now. Securing his money pouch and hugging his notes, Lucas ran after Amara -- almost crashing into several people along the way.
Saoirse was so distracted that she hadn't even noticed Grace sit next to her, let alone acknowledge her in any way. She jumped when the other girl spoke to her. Going to Quidditch? She supposed she shouldn't have been surprised. She appeared to be alone in her thoughts on the game. She shrugged at Grace, unsure how to respond. She didn't want to seem rude and disinterested, but staying at Hogwarts was already a massive step to her.
"It's not really my thing, but..." She remembered something her father had told her. Even if it seemed scary, just try, just for a little bit. She could always go home if it was too much for her. "Maybe I'll come just for a little bit."
And with that, breakfast was over. Saoirse nodded at Grace, deciding to take the leap to follow everyone else to the match, just for the first bit. She supposed it was going to be something new, and if she hated it, she would never have to do it again.
Amelia nodded to Jade and then smiled at Jacob when he said Hufflepuff had been the one he betted on. Amelia finished up her own breakfast and smiled when Jacob stood to leave. She followed suit and joined him in stride towards the pitch. It was gonna be a good game, she just knew it. It made her happy. With all the stuff she got from home though, she realized she would need to run this stuff up to the common room.
"I'll meet you there," she said, grabbing the things and heading towards the common room once she left the Great Hall. She also needed to make sure Toby knew about the whole Christmas thing, which really caused her to groan at the idea of two other first years in the house with their whole family.

As soon as breakfast was over, Arthur got up so he could hurry to the match. He hoped he had time to change into his Hufflepuff-themed outfit, something he hadn't wanted to risk ruining in case a particularly messy first year decided spilling breakfast all over their housemates was a good idea. He knew it was probably difficult to see people from the stands, but he wanted his team to know that he was cheering for them if they did see him.
Talking among his friends some more, it seemed that they were pretty divided on if they were even going to the game, never mind who they wanted to win. Personally, Rylan never liked to miss a game, although he didn't really have any friends on the quidditch teams.
Finishing breakfast, he stood from the table (trying not to snicker at the pyromaniac Slytherin lest he lose his own House points) and made his way to the pitch. He would really need to think about spending a little more time with his new toad, but he doubted that she would run away in the mean time. Heck, maybe he should bring her to the match. That would change the mood and for all he knew toads liked quidditch too!

Grace was glad Saoirse was going to come with her. It was more fun to do things with friends, and the older students were all a little intimidating, even when they weren't trying to be. Now they could cheer together, if they did. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do, especially considering both Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were ahead of her house in terms of house points.
She stood up as breakfast ended, joining the trickle of people headed out towards the match. It was probably going to be lots and lots of fun. Well, at least she hoped it would be. Maybe watching Quidditch would be way more boring than playing it.
