After the run in with the Silvana girl in the Owlery, Kamari had gone straight to the entrance hall. The girl had some good ideas and while she wondered what the posters were all about she figured she'd find out sooner rather than later...
If she showed up.
Surely she would, however, and Kamari would wait patiently. She could have followed her to the common room but, rather than seem desperate for conversation, she decided to head right to the entrance hall and wait.
"Tergio!" she mumbled, using her wand to dry the little water that had gathered from the rain upon her robes. Now dry, she could warm up at least! She shook her hair from her face, pushing it back just a bit as she leaned against the wall.
Waiting was never quite her forte. She wanted so badly to just... do something fun. Like run. Or get to work on something - idle hands and all that.
Even with a large portion of the school busy watching the match, the Entrance Hall was as busy as ever. Most had given up on enduring the weather by then anyway, and were wandering around with friends or looking for something to pass the time with.
That meant, as usual, Kamari had to deal with the stares and whispers. A group of 3rd years even halted in their tracks to gasp, then chattered to each other -- all she caught was her surname, and something about balloons? They had released a new range of balloon animals recently, which was probably what they were so excited about.
No one came up to her today, but many did glance her way as the passed by. So aware of her surroundings because of them, Kamari would easily spot Silvana hurrying off the Grand Staircase and headed towards her with a shoulder bag full of rolled-up posters.
She slowed her pace, frowning as she saw the attention Kamari was getting. She caught the mention of Sagemores and clicked her fingers, now knowing why her first name had sounded familiar. Silvana smiled, pleased to have solved the mystery, but (unlike so many others) she didn't particularly care about the rest of it or understand why everyone was making such a fuss.
'Here. Spellotape should do the trick.' Silvana handed her a roll of sticky tape. She grabbed a poster from her bag, ready to get to work. 'We'll spread these out around the Hall, okay? Spots where people will see them, but not too close together. I'm taller so I'll hold, you tape -- deal?'
She let Kamari pick the first spot, busy counting her posters to make sure she had enough. They were all on rather nice parchment and clearly homemade. Kamari couldn't see what was on them yet, but the sight of Silvana with posters caused a few students to roll their eyes at her and make an effort to keep their distance.

Kamari felt like she was on display. She'd really hoped that with the game going that the others would have mostly been congregated outside or in their common rooms but she wasn't as luck as all that.
Some third years stopped, whispered about the family and then, thankfully kept going. None were all up on her yet, none were pressing her for conversation she'd didn't much care to have - she'd rather be with the one she was waiting for, talking about her posters or her ideas - that sounded like a much better time.
At least then the other girl would be the center of attention. Even if it was from Kamari herself.
Scanning the students that were coming and going, Kamari was relieved when she saw Silvana appear. True to her word she had a bag full of posters that she would help hang. Yes! Something to do!
She was excited at the prospect of doing something that might be different, that would be spent with someone else that was older and didn't seem to press about her name or react the way most others did.
It made her like the Gryffindor girl Silvana even more.
"Deal!" Kamari exclaimed, taking the tape from the other without preamble. Sure, it might be difficult but she had a plan.
Picking the first spot, she took only a moment to observe the quality. It was impressive, really. She thought about them a lot and, for a moment, froze in her ideas to question her. But, like all things, the freeze only lasted a moment.
"So what's the cause for these?" she asked, glancing up at the other girl as she taped the last edge down. She wanted to take a step back, observe the work; take in every last detail because, as far as she could tell, they were done beautifully.
Silvana didn't need to answer Kamari's question, as the posters were revealed while they worked on taping them to various strategic points of the Entrance Hall. They were indeed beautiful, despite the otherwise simple design. The focal point was the hand-painted text, and each one had one of three magical creatures drawn and coloured in the middle.
The Niffler was easily recognised -- especially for Kamari, as she had the fortune (and misfortune, given the headache their care was), of helping raise three baby Nifflers when she was eight, and Alora was six. She couldn't remember why, or where they came from, and it was only for a few weeks -- but their cuteness was as memorable as the mess they also made if unsupervised.
The second creature was a Winter Hummingbird, which was the most accurately detailed of the three drawings. She'd only seen a few from a distance one dry fall afternoon when setting up camp in a forest. Her Mama said they were so named because of the way they spend months preparing their nest for winter.
So far, both creatures enjoyed collecting or scavenging things from their environment. It fit with the theme that the next creature was some sort of mole. Kamari didn't know that one, but if it burrowed underground than it likely had a little hoard of food or materials as well.
The slogan read: Protect Our Magical Creatures. DON'T LITTER.
Silvana reached for another poster, of which there were only two left, but sighed in deep frustration at the unmistakable sound of parchment slowly being torn in two. She shot a glare at two teenage boys, possibly around their age (yet houses unknown as they were dressed casually, out of uniform).
They took one torn piece each and scrunched it up into a ball, then tossed it on the floor. Laughing, they just left it there and walked away.
Silvana clenched her fists, staring at the balls of parchment -- her hard work, wasted, but also the sheer rudeness of it all.
'Pick it up,' she said, suddenly. Silvana seemed surprised by her own words, though kept her gaze low and uncertain. She'd reacted out of anger, not confidence. 'You jerks, pick it up.'
'Nah, don't wanna.' One said, turning to give her a lazy shrug. 'Maybe you shouldn't waste parchment with this nonsense. So what if we litter, anyway? Isn't that what House Elves are for?'

Oh but the posters were lovely! Kamari took what time she could to admire them - the hand drawn art was pretty in her honest opinion, and the message was wonderful! There were many reasons to heed it, she was sure, magical creatures aside.
But she understood. The kinds of creatures that liked collecting things could get hurt if they got ahold of the wrong thing so she respected the message and the art. Silvana had done a fabulous job!
She spent only a moment praising the art before the work continued - working their way down the line of wall. Kamari enjoyed the work, she enjoyed the company and she was content to keep going.
In fact, she was just glad to have someone be nice to her without asking a bunch of questions or commenting on her family. It was refreshing.
But then something caught her attention. Kamari's eyes snapped back to the start of their line in enough time to see the scene unfold before her. She watched in horror as two boys ripped one of Silvana's posters! Her eyes widened slightly at the absolute gall of those boys.
For a moment she hung back, watching the other girl confront them, telling them to pick up their mess. For a moment she expected them to listen. To her, Silvana seemed to be a commanding, confident presence. She could have been wrong but she liked her a lot.
That didn't mean the boys were going to be smart about it.
No, instead, they decided to tell her no. And insult house elves all at once. She was absolutely floored by their audacity and, not wanting to see someone that was actually nice to her pushed around, Kamari moved.
"Hey!" She snapped at them, stepping next to Silvana. Her gaze lingered upon the boy that had called her posters nonsense.
"You need to pick it up. It doesn't matter if you think something is a waste or not - you messed up, you fix it. And then you need to apologize to Silvana for ruining her hard work!" She didn't care that her voice carried in the moment, she didn't care if they looked at her as if she were rude.
What mattered was they learn some dang manners and apologize for being atrocious.
'That's one of the Sagemore kids,' a boy whispered to his friend, as they finally noticed Kamari there. 'As if she knows anything about hard work or picking up after herself.'
The other boy opened his mouth to retort something bound to be even worse, but the moment was interrupted by the loud chatters and cheers of an approaching crowd. It seemed the Quidditch match was finally over. Sure enough, the doors burst open and shivering yet high-spirited students flooded into the Entrance Hall.
Silvana shied away from it all, and didn't seem to know what to do. The boys took advantage of that and gave both girls a sarcastic wave -- before rushing to find friends and get the gossip of the match. Based on the display, it was clear that Slytherin had won. 'Thanks,' Silvana told Kamari, though it wasn't clear which part -- the company, the posters, or speaking up on her behalf. 'I'll put the last ones up somewhere else. See you at dinner, I guess.'
She gave the jerks a shy look, clutching the strap of her shoulder bag. Sighing, she went to retrieve the balls of parchment herself -- then hurried off to the Grand Staircase, trying her best not to be bumped into by other students.

"Yeah, my name is Kamari," She snapped, overhearing his too-loud whisper. She was upset with him, for sure. As if she knew anything about hard work, indeed.
But she couldn't let her temper get the better of her - she had to pretend that the words hadn't stung. That boy didn't know her or her family, so she'd have to forgive him for being a dirtbag in that regard.
She was ready to argue with him, ready to do... something, anything to remedy the situation but as he opened his stupid mouth a rush of people came into the castle.
She thought about cursing them or something as they retreated but quickly turned her attention back to the girl that was the actual target of their horrible behavior.
"I'm sorry they were awful to you, Silvana." she finally responded to the thanks. But she was retreating and Kamari watched her with a hint of sadness for her. She didn't seem to want to linger so she'd not make the older girl. Instead she turned, listening to the shouts of the others that came in.
Slytherin, it seemed, had won and that meant she'd have plenty of time to talk to Alora without a massive party to stand in the way. She sighed to herself, gathering her masks and putting on a smile before she slipped toward the common room to change and prepare for dinner.
