Gilbert gave Charlotte a kind smile, knowing this was all quite the change for her. Dorens did not do well with change, but the children were handling things as well as could be expected. He was proud of them for it, but didn't want to overstep in saying so. He wasn't a big fan of change himself, though was pleased to see the improvements being made. It was long overdue.
'I've been trying to get you kids to call me Bertie for years.' He chuckled, lightening the tension. 'You may call me whatever you're comfortable with,' he then reassured her.
Their moment was cut short by Dodry, and Charlotte had to head to the lobby with her siblings. Of course, it wasn't mandatory for each of them to attend -- Dae-hyun Tolliver was there waiting, and wasn't yet sure if William wished to come along. Elizabeth certainly should, given it was her N.E.W.T year and her booklist was quite different this year.
'All set? Have your lists?' Tolliver checked. 'Let's go.'
He led them off the estate, and even then it was a bit of a distance before they could use magical transportation as the Doren parents hadn't made that easy on anyone.
William stood at a distance, watching them. Charlotte was happy, just as she mostly remained around Gilbert. Sometimes, he couldn't understand why she liked him too much. He talked nicely to them, but wasn't it part of his job? William tried to remember some good things their gardener had done for them.
No matter how many new things Gilbert had done, It was hard for William to accept the new change in their relationship. He agrees with Elizabeth on the matter that there must be a reason why their parents kept it a secret. He wished nothing like that would have happened. It almost felt likes years ago when all three of them got lectures about their grades and then arrest. William wasn't fond of those lectures but he does miss that stability and structure which their parents use to keep.
William noticed Dae-hyun Tolliver's arrival but waited for Charlotte to join before approaching him. They couldn't let her stay behind especially when she was already so hurt. She had shown a different kind of way to handle the shock but still, it was a shock.
In the main hall, William finds Dae-hyun Tolliver already waiting. "Yes." He replied to his question. Then followed behind him along with his siblings.
