Kassia sat and watched the lake as Amelia wrote her letter. She listened to the sigh of wind rustling the tall grasses and the reeds. The wind was cool but didn't put a chill in her bones. She couldn't remember the last time she just sat still and stared. The personable silence was nice. As Amelia finished her letter, Kassia found herself thirsty. Taking out a ginger tonic, she gulped it down. The spice burned her tongue, but she told herself it was healthy.
She spoke once Amelia was done writing. "It feels so medieval, Gryffindors and Slytherins being expected to be enemies."
With the letter finished, she was happy to know they could make a detour to the Owlry on the way to lunch. She had a question for Kassia, but it was going to be dangerous.
"Want to go to the Forbidden Forest later this afternoon?" She needed those spores and she knew it had to be done. It was going to be risky, but with two of them, maybe they would be safer.
