Lions stalked...

Snakes slithered...

Lindsey hung back away from any Gryffindors in the area, but it was hard not to be noticed by a few passing students. The whispers that came, she couldn't hear them... but it didn't matter.

She was looking for something. The portrait of a Raven. That is what the ghost had said. Well, at least she had that bit of information.

She began the search, acting extremely interested in several paintings to keep the whispers of the lions from clouding her better judgement.

The portrait of the fat lady wasn't too far and she made her way around the area looking for that one particular one. Maybe she should ask?

"Excuse me?" She went up to the portrait of the fat lady.

The Fat Lady glanced down at her, but there was no notable reaction on her face to seeing a Slytherin stand before her -- as if this was a situation she'd been in many a times over the years, and not once was it a pleasant one. At least, that's the impression Lindsey got.

'Yes?' she asked, tone thick with unwelcome. 'I'm not letting you in without a password, so don't even think about it.'

Despite those words, would she have let a Slytherin in even then? Not without a fuss, at least. Little did she know, Lindsey had already been inside the Gryffindor common room this year.

"Oh, I dinna want to come in," Lindsey said, though had already been in the common room once before. She wasn't going to say anything about that. It was best she didn't. "I was lookin' for a raven portrait." Lindsey was just honest, not wishing to lie to anyone, but didn't have to speak about everything. Asking for directions was an easy thing to do.

The Fat Lady sighed, then pointed back along the corridor where Lindsey entered through -- back towards the Grand Staircase, and the platform itself. That was where she would find it. And given its size, it'll be hard to miss now she knew where to go.

Lindsey looked back over her shoulder and then back to the Fat Lady. She gave her a smile, it was a true smile and nodded.

"Thank you," she said in a kind tone, before she turned back and looked. The size made her really kick herself in the rear when she saw it. She turned towards it and smiled.

"I'm Lindsey Bryce... I'm lookin' for Rowena Ravenclaws artefact room," she said firmly and confidently.

The raven reacted when Lindsey said her full name, and only to that part. The raven's eyes shone red, like enchanted jewels.

It flew out of frame, similar to how other paintings would often wander to visit each other or hide when Peeves was throwing things around. It remained bare for a moment, then the painting turned into a mirror. An inscription appeared on it, clearer than her own reflection staring back at her.

What cannot be seen may pass through its nothingness.

What cannot be seen? Well, she could be seen... She looked around and made sure she thought while she did so. So, it wasn't a person or thing...

"Intent? Ye canne see the intent of someone, aye?" she said, understanding that this was something else. Something personal. Something deeper.

"Or heart? Ye canne see that either," she said in thought. She was tapping her chin and glancing over her shoulder at a group that passed her quietly. She hadn't caught their attention and she was trying to be quiet.
