The Spiral Staircase had given her something to search for and she was not going to stop there. Having rushed through the castle, she managed to make it to the Kitchen. Lunch was likely in full swing right now, but she had to find Mitsy. She rubbed her hand a little from where she had the memory of the burning key, but it was just a memory.
It normally smelt nice in here, so she made sure to inhale and see what she could smell from Lunch Preparation. Her stomach growled and she held it for a moment. She could deal with that later. This seemed to be a pressing matter.
Lunch was yet to arrive, but the house-elves were indeed in full preparation mode. A somewhat shy-looking elf noticed her enter though, wondering if she was simply too impatient to wait for food (these were growing kids, after all), or if there was something else she needed help with.
'Hello,' the elf said, hurrying over to assist. 'I is Dippy. Is you needing anything?' he asked, even though they had met before.
He recognised her, of course, but wasn't sure if he himself was memorable enough. And he wasn't sure how else to greet someone other than to politely introduce himself.

It smelt amazing and she smiled at all the hustle and bustle. When she was approached by one of the elves, Lindsey knelt down to be more on her level. It just felt like it was the polite thing to do. Lindsey hated looking down at someone, it felt like she was degrading them.
"Yes, ye can... I am lookin' for an elf named Mitsy?" She asked the elf, her stomach growling yet again in protest of her not getting it something to eat. It would have to wait, she needed to take care of this first. "I needed to ask a question," Lindsey said, trying to us a tone that showed it was a serious matter.
Before Dippy could figure out how to respond, having gasped at Mitsy's name, another elf hurried over when she heard the end part of Lindsey's words. No one else had heard the beginning, on account of a few banging pots and pans nearby.
'Hello. I is Sorbey,' she said. 'You is wanting to know something? What is your question? I is doing my best to answer it.' She stood taller, in effort to look important and knowledgeable.
Dippy stared at his feet, unable to speak. He shook his head nervously.

When the appearance of another elf appeared, Lindsey looked at her and felt a little bad for Dippy. First, it was rude to interrupt someone's conversation. And, she didn't know what or why Lindsey was here. She just barged in and for a moment, Lindsey felt her face burn.
"I was speakin' ta Dippy, Sorbey..." Lindsey said in a very scolding voice, mostly how her mother once spoke to her when she was rude to someone. "I am lookin' for Mitsy, that is who me question is for." It was said in a matter of fact tone and she looked back to Dippy.
"Do ye know where Mitsy is, Dippy? Or where I might be able to find her?"

Sorbey gasped at the scolding tone, hands covering her mouth in shock and tears in her eyes. She mumbled something, face red in embarrassment and shame, then backed away to return to her duties. A few other elves frowned at Lindsey, as Sorbey tried to hide away behind some stacked pots -- sniffling miserably.
Dippy's eyes were wide, afraid to be scolded too. His eyes widened again at Mitsy's name, this time heard by the other elves. Many nearby paused their tasks, staring at Lindsey then hurrying away as if they didn't want to be associated with that conversation or request.
It took Dippy a few stuttered attempts to speak.
'Uh. I...' He gulped, trying to be brave but was unable to lift his gaze. 'I is not... Miss Lindsey, I is not sure you is meant to be knowing that.' He was conflicted, wringing his hands together as he stared at the floor.
Were they allowed to talk about it? They had once before, but... he didn't know. What if it was breaking the rules or putting a student at risk? Oh, no they couldn't do that.
Lindsey would have to work on her persuasive skills if she wanted to proceed.

Lindsey watched as Sorbey walked away and then returned her attention to Dippy, ignoring the other elves own scolds at her. Lindsey had no intention to involve herself with Sorbey and her rudeness. When Dippy did speak, Lindsey smiled at the elf.
"Dippy, it is very important... I need to find Mitsy," Lindsey said, wondering if she should speak about Professor Dumblerdor or not. She bit her lip and then looked at Dippy with a smile. "I ken it might be odd, but I had a vision about Mitsy and she looked so scared... I want to make sure she is okay." Lindsey was concerned for the elf, but she also had to ask her own questions.
Dippy's determination not to say anything began to waver. He glanced at other elves nearby, but they gave no confirmation of what to do. He frowned, staring at his own toes as he was filled with uncertainty -- still unsure if it was worth the risk or if Lindsey really could help.
'Is you sure, Miss Lindsey?' he whispered. 'You is wanting to help her?'

Lindsey watched as he looked around and she did the same thing. The rest weren't telling him no, but that didn't mean he might. At his words, she gave him a soft smile.
"Aye, laddy, I'm more than sure... if any of ye were in need of help, I'd be there... Ye, Sombey, or Mitsy... Any of ye," she said to him in a voice full of confidence in her choice. She would always be there to help.
Dippy nodded at her kind words, still unsure but he believed Lindsey was telling the truth and might actually be able to help. He glanced at the other elves nearby, then beckoned Lindsey off to the side as if that made their conversation a bit more private.
'I is hearing Mitsy is trying to help Professor Dumbledore with something,' Dippy said quietly. 'She is in the Dungeons, and cries of a terrible wailing. She is refusing to leave until her task is done, yet is too scared to go further. You is needing to find her, Miss Lindsey.'
Dippy shuddered at the thought of poor Mitsy alone in the dungeons, so scared and yet unable to leave.

"Forgive me... Sorbey," Lindsey said calmly to the house-elf. Lindsey followed him to the side, away from the others. Once they were away, she listened and swallowed in worry.
"I'll go find her and help her, Dippy," she said but gripped at her stomach when I growled at her. She blushed in embarrassment and looked at the house-elf. "Dippy, do you have a wee bite of something I could take with me?" There was no way she could do this on an empty stomach. And she was going to get to lunch.
'Yes. I is getting you something to eat,' Dippy said, then hurried off to put together a snack -- wrapping it in a cloth so she could take it with her.
He proudly handed it to her, though hoped she could find time to have lunch as well because food was important. He hoped the snack would be enough for now, and wished her luck on helping Mitsy.
'Is you needing anything else?' he asked, just to be sure.
