#19 - Windswept and Interesting

Orla's eyes lit up as she spotted the glistening Frogspawn nestled in a clump of reeds.

Wriggling tadpoles disturbed the sediment on the lake bottom, making the murky water even muddier, but it was easy to see that this was a large clump of fresh Frogspawn, more than enough for her potion!

Moving quickly, she fumbled in her robe pockets and produced a jam jar that usually held her hair ties - she'd seen it this morning and figured it was the perfect container for her next ingredient. 

As she leaned over the dark water, Orla could see that the jar wasn't quite big enough for all of the Frogspawn. She slowly submerged the jar, smiling as the tadpoles darted away from her hand; with a great glug and bubble, the Frogspawn tumbled into the jar.

With a soft wiggle, she detached roughly two thirds of the lot, trying to ignore the water seeping into her shoes. She straightened, holding the jar up to the light so she could see the dark orbs jiggling in their jelly eggs. Success!

Orla felt this morning was going amazingly well, and she couldn't stop smiling as she screwed the lid on the jar tightly and slipped it into her pocket. She looked down at the remaining spawn - perhaps Thorne would like to know where this good Frogspawn spot was! 

With a jump, she stepped back onto dry shore and skipped her way to the boathouse, very pleased with herself.
