#18 - Chest full of Sentiments

Reena instantly took a step back when the book burst into flames. She had not quite expected fire and it was a terrible, gut-wrenching blow to watch her beloved book turn to ash. Her father had given it to her and now it was as gone as he was.

However, she couldn't even give it the final honor of watching it disappear, the sheer brightness of the pale blue magic forced her to avert her gaze, for fear of going blind - if only temporarily.

When it was over there was small moment in which Reena just stared at the ashes in a frozen stupor.

She could not quite sort her feeling as she took out the multi-coloured seed, using a second hand as its weight took her by surprise.
Reena could feel her teeth clench as she inspected it. Healthy looking.

Now she only needed to successfully raise the ancient fruit.
Good thing she was so adapt to plants. She should probably get help for that.

This artefact better be worth it. Give her super magic powers. Or a fortune so she could feed her family in the summer.

Reena carefully placed the seed into her pocket and with a last look at the ashes turned to leave this place behind, braving the many, many steps all the way down to the ground floor.
