His seeds planted in the Student Greenhouse, Tom was ready to continue his search for ingredients. Tom found himself in the Clocktower Courtyard, one of his favorite locations on the castle grounds. There was just something cool about the achitecture and the old stones, the view out from over the cliff, and the plants growing that made it almost otherworldy. It was definitely one of those places that felt like a physical reminder to him that magic exists.
He forced himself to stop romanticizing and get to work, looking for a Beetle in the Courtyard. He sincerely hoped that the cold wouldn't hinder his search. Insects were cold blooded, right, so the freezing weather didn't bother them as much. Wasn't that what he had learned in a Muggle school science lesson once upon a time? That life felt like a lifetime ago to Tom.
He searched on, reminiscing in his mind and humming to himself, fingers ready to snatch any beetles that might reveal themselves.
The castle and various stone benches provided some shelter from the snow for any critters who may venture through here or make the Courtyard their home. Tom didn't have any luck outright in finding the Beetles, but there were tiny tracks that gave their position away.
A little hole went under a thick lump of snow beside a bench. If he were to dig it out, he could make a fast grab for the unsuspecting Beetle within.
