Lindsey had moved back into the castle, her footsteps moved with a determination and her strides were long. She had been to the staff room earlier this morning, wanting to go to Saint Mungo, but that had been canceled. She could deal with that for the time. She found herself busy with helping Professor Sprout now, but she was far from where the Professor was currently.
In her bag was a envelope for Professor Hathmore and she was determined to find the professor and hand it over. This was her best option to find him, the staff room. She couldn't remember if he had class today, but if he wasn't here, maybe another professor could help her.
Lifting her hand, she gave a firm knock and took a step back to allow anyone space when they opened the door.
The door opened to reveal Professor McGonagall, who'd just finished saying something to another member of staff somewhere within the room. She wore a serious expression, though it had nothing to do with the Slytherin student who awaited company.
'Yes?' McGonagall asked. 'Is there something I can help you with, Bryce?'
Alice was walking towards the staff room, still not finished planning her move. She would need to reason to ask for a book of restricted sections.
She thought about all her professors, wondering whom she could ask. According to the situation, she could only think of one professor, Professor Archerose. He would surely allow it, or at least there was the best chance of asking him.
When Alice arrived near the staff room, she noticed Professor McGonagall talking to a Slytherin student outside the staff room. Should she ask her instead? Or would she ask more questions? She doesn't even look in good more currently. 'Decide Fast.' She ordered herself.

Lindsey looked up at the rather intimidating Professor, but smiled at her. McGonagall was someone that Lindsey did look up to. She was a strong woman, she knew what she wanted and Lindsey loved it.
"Hello again, Professor," she said with a smile, "I'm lookin' for Professor Hathmore, I have an envelope from Professor Sprout." She pulled it out and showed it the professor before placing it back into her bag until she saw the person it was intended for. Though she was sure that the Professor could easily give it to the other, this was her job.
Professor McGonagall glanced at the young Gryffindor nearby, though Alice hadn't approached or said anything yet so was likely waiting her turn. So McGonagall gave her time, and focused on Lindsey's request. With a nod, she stepped back into the Staff Room and made a gesture they students couldn't see.
A moment later, Professor Hathmore peered around the door frame with a sandwich in hand. Seeing who it was, he emerged fully into the corridor and gave Lindsey a curious glance -- which also implied he awaited her to explain why she summoned him or what she needed.
'Is there something we can help you with, Jane?' McGonagall asked Alice, giving her a stern look in hope the first year would speak up about her own presence there.

Lindsey tried to look in the direction the Professor was in, but it was no use. She couldn't see into the staff room, but soon the Professor she was searching for came around the corner and she smiled at him. He seemed to be enjoying either a late breakfast or early lunch and she felt a little bad about it. At his curious glance, she pulled out the enveloped and offered it to him.
"Professor Sprout asked me to bring this to ye, said she needed ye to sign off on an order she is wishin' to put in," Lindsey said as she remembered the words the professor had spoken to her at the greenhouse. Lindsey was already set to head back to the greenhouse, but waited for the professor to do what he needed to do so she could leave. She moved aside to allow the younger student through, though.
Alice had to make a decision. The good thing was that there was that older girl because it gave her time to think. She returned to reality when she heard her name.
"Good Morning, Professor Mcgonigal." She said before the silence stretched too long. She is sweet and helpful but could catch a lie easily. On the other hand, Professor Archerose would probably be too happy to suspect anything.
"I wanted to see Professor Archerose. Is he inside?" She asked.
Professor Hathmore nodded, as if the letter was expected. Sandwich in one hand, he accepted the envelope from Lindsey.
'I'll read through it as soon as I have a free moment,' he said. 'Then I'll ensure it gets to where it needs to go. Thank you for delivering this. Is there anything you need?'
Meanwhile, Professor McGonagall had returned to the Staff Room -- and Professor Archerose emerged to tend to Alice's request. He tucked away some scrolls into his robes, then offered the young Gryffindor a smile in greeting.

When Alice noticed Professor Hathmore, the scene from the morning came to her mind when she heard students screaming in his class. Although she knew it couldn't be anything dangerous but was scary for sure.
She returned to the present when she heard Professor Archerosa's voice. "Good Morning, Professor." She said.
"Professor, I was reading about some ancient language in the library." That wasn't a lie; she read about many different ancient languages in an attempt to search for the one she needed.
"And I fund out about a book, which could be helpful. It's 'An Advanced Translation of Ancient Languages' by Rowena Ravenclaw.' But Madam Pich said it is in the restricted section. And I need written permission to borrow it." She tried to ask in an innocent voice, "Could you give me written permission to borrow it from the library?"
Professor Hathmore, unknown to Alice, hid a smile as he overheard some of her request. He scratched behind his ear and feigned innocence, instead focusing on Lindsey to await her answer. He decided to pass the time by eating his sandwich, convinced he wouldn't get to otherwise.
'Hmmm, that's a very advanced subject for a first year,' Professor Archerose said. Tempting as it was to assist any student in their endeavors for new knowledge and extended reading, he wasn't one to not ask questions. 'Is there a particular reason you need something like that, from the Restricted Section of all places?'
He probably would be more inclined to grant it to an older student, but a first year was rather strange so he needed to some more context considering it. After all, books in that section tended to also be precious. And why loan them to someone who wouldn't even be able to make any sense of its contents if such was far too advanced?
An explanation or her interest or need for it would go a long way.

Lindsey was glad that he took it, though she had hoped for a better answer to give to the Professor at the greenhouse. She thought about his question and shook her head slightly.
"No, Sir, thank ye," she said with a little smile and turned to leave. She chose to head straight for the greenhouse, just so she could let the professor know that it had been delivered. She knew that soon her own class would be starting and she would be in that general area anyway.

It happened what she was afraid of. Alice decided to ask Professor Archerosa for permission because she assumed he would easily give it. But it isn't happening so easily.
"Professor. Recently, I have been studying some ancient languages, but I believe this knowledge could be helpful for me in the future." It was the truth. She does have faith that this was not her last encounter with ancient languages. The founder's secret would involve much use of such languages.
It was almost time for her next class, which means she had to hurry to arrive there before it started.
"That's why I wanted to learn more about it." She finished with an innocent voice, looking at her with puppy eyes.
Professor Archerose wasn't as convinced, given the advanced subject and her current level of study. His NEWT students were waiting for him though, and he knew 1st years had a class of some sort due any moment as well.
'Well, I suppose, if there's no harm...' he muttered, figuring there wasn't much to lose with it as the worst that could happen is she just wouldn't understand what she was reading.
'Here you go. Take good care of it, and good luck.' Archerose signed a Professor's note for Alice to use the Restricted Section for that specific book.
He gave her a "hurry along" gesture, then grabbed his cloak from the inside of the Staff Room before heading off himself.

Alice was glad when Professor Archerosa finally agreed. She was almost worried that she would not get permission. She took the note from him.
"Yes Profesor, I will take good care of it and return it in time." She said with excitement.
It was already time for her class, and probably he was also going for a class, "Thank you, Profesor." She said, putting the note inside her bag and starting running towards the ground. She would go to the library for the book after class.
