Alice went near to the boathouse. Some of the boats were still there. She still remembers the day when she had first arrived at Hogwarts on one of these boats only. She was so afraid and excited that day. Probably all the students with her were having similar thoughts in their minds. But today, she hasn't come here for boats. She is here for searching potion ingredients.
She glared at her sheet once again. Spider, Fish Eye, Red spider eggs, Mercy's Lace. Why most the things are creepy, she wonders. Still, she moves forward to look around for these things.
She was already damp from her search of the lake shore, so the sight of the frozen lake wasn't appealing. It was somewhat thawed around the edge, making a search for Mercy's Lace possible, but quite difficult and unlikely.
The corners within the boathouse held more promise. It was quite shadowed, as the sky was thick with snowy clouds, so Alice would need to get closer to see if there were any cobwebs she sought -- either old or silvery.
Not much was visible from this distance. But if Alice wants to get permission to use the student laboratory, she has to do this. She tries to relax and slowly move near the water and look for Mercy's lace. Probably after getting it, she would be moving inside to cobwebs.
The near-frozen edges were like blurred glass; still quite difficult to see through. There were no obvious signs of colour or what could be something growing within her reach. It was a fair effort, but unfortunately Alice wasn't able to get a clear enough view.
Alice tries to find Mercy's Lace, but the frozen lake becomes an obstacle for her. Maybe today is not the day for it. But one thing is for sure; she will not return empty-handed from here. If not Mercy's Lace, then a blue spider and spider's eggs, she will take back.
Then she went near the corners, looking for both old and silvery webs. She needed to get both, reminding herself she checked each corner very carefully.
The corners had plenty of cobwebs, but it was quite a dark and shadowy area-- making it hard to determine how old they were or to highlight any silvery threads. It was very promising, if only she could make anything out in the darkness.

It was hard to find anything beneficial in this darkness. Even in the morning light, the corners were very dark. Alice stepped back a bit and took the wand out. Looking at the tip of it, she spoke, "Lumos."
A bright light started to shine on its tips. Alice took the wand forward and continued to look for old and silvery cobwebs.
Silvery webs shone in the light, but the blue spiders were fearful of being exposed and scurried out of view. At least she knew where the web was now, it she dared brave it without a well-lit wand.
The spell also revealed a patch of old cobwebs on the opposite side, tucked away in a dusty corner of the boathouse. There were several pink sacs, though only two of them looked to be in good enough condition to contain a viable ingredient. They were tough to tear open though, so while it was doable for a determined first year -- it would take Alice some time and grit to succeed.
Then she could search for another pink sac, or put out her wand and try to capture a blue spider in near-darkness.

Alice's eyes shone when she saw a silvery web, but no spired was visible. She only observed the location and made a mental note of returning here again.
There were some old webs also there, and within them were two good-quality pink sacs. Alice was determined to take it. Shifting her wand into her left hand, she moved forward to try to tear it with full force to get some eggs. After getting it, then she would try to search for some more.
It was a challenging task, leaving her fingers feeling a bit numb, but Alice managed to tear the sacs open eventually. Inside were the fresh red spider eggs, added to her small but growing collection of ingredients.
Continuing her search, aiding by the lit wand, Alice was able to find another pink sac. It was a bit out of reach, but manageable. It was the last item she'd bee able to gather from the boathouse this morning.

Alice's fingers were numb, but her excitement was much immense. She was able to get enough eggs for two servings. Looking another way, she was able to find another pink sac. But this time, was unable to pull it with the same force as she did the previous two times.
After that, she again went towards the silvery web. "Nox." She murmured slowly, extinguishing her wand. Then stretched her hand inward to grab some blue spiders.

Once the light faded, cobwebs began to move again. It was dark though, with just outlines and presumably-spider movements. Alice would have to be brave to catch one, especially if using her hands not a container, and time it well as the spiders were still a bit skittish. It was more likely one would scurry up her arm to avoid being caught.

Alice was confident in catching the spider. Putting her wand inside her pocket, she took out a container and held it tightly in her left hand. When felt a minor movement in the web, she grabbed the thing with her right hand and put it in the container, closing it tight. After that only she looked in it to see the thing she had caught.
In panicked effort to flee, it jumped onto her hand -- then pounced into the darkness. There were more spiders emerging though, so she could give it another try.
Alice got spooked when that spider jumped on her hand, but thankfully, it vanished in the darkness soon. She was not afraid of spiders, but it would be better if they didn't bite her. In childhood, she had got a spider bite.
There was still minor movement there. Alice revised the plan in her mind. Grab the spired and put it in the container, closing it tight. After that, see what you got. With this, she again attempted it.
