Jamie rushed up the stairs to get to the owlery. He had completely forgotten to send his letter to his mother and he held onto it for dear life. He had scribbled a small note at the bottom about the Quidditch match and smiled when he reached the top of the stairs. After finding an owl, he attached the letter and watched as it flew off with it.
He was about to leave when he remembered that he could find some ingredients up here. Was it feathers? He started to search the owlery, hoping to not disturb the other owls while he was here.
It isn't easy to do that, but I am making a few friends. I walked with Grace to class this morning, we had transfiguration and it was very interesting. I sat with Joe, another Ravenclaw and there was a worm in a jar. We turned it into a piece of thread using the spell Vermiswev. I didn't get it right away, but I'll keep practicing. I went to see Professor Snape and got permission to use the student lab. I also went and saw Mr. Hagrid and got a pot to take to the greenhouse. Professor Sprout taught me the spell, Aquamenti and I planted a Pink seed.
Um... Do you think I could get some more supplies to keep growing more? It is actual really fun.
This afternoon, I had Charms class and Grace had Quidditch Practice, I'm sure she wrote and told you all about it. After class this afternoon I went to the Nuffler Pit and got a bronze key! It was awesome, Mum! I went to the skills room and that was kinda scary, but I'm okay. I found some ingredients in the boat house, but I fell into the lake. I'm okay, a older slytherin helped me. She was nice, mum.
And I have been talking to Joe in my dorm, he is really nice. He likes to hang out with a boy named Ryan and also a Gryffindor... I can't remember his name right now, but I think it starts with a T. I also met a girl named Clara, she is really nice. We explored the ground yesterday looking for ingredients for our potions kit and I got my kit!
Love you Mom,
Jamie
P.S. Actual, I started writing this the other day, but I am just now getting it to the owls... Grace did great in the Quidditch match against Slytherin! It seems really dangerous, but she did awesome, even if they did lose.
It seemed some owls had gotten into a bit of a scuffle over nesting boxes earlier, as several fresh feathers were spread around one in Jamie's reach. Some were a bit broken or mucky, but he could grab two that would make for viable ingredients.
Jamie smiled as he saw the area full of feathers and began to search for a few that would be good for his potions kit. After going through several, he picked out the best two and stored them away in his bag before he headed out of the owlry. To be honest, he was glad to be alone for a bit, but as he looked at his potion list, he gulped when he realized... He really needed two things that could only be found in one particular place... The Forbidden Forest... So, he headed in the direction of the forest path.
