After a long, well-earned rest, Rubes woke feeling happy and refreshed. She wandered out to the main courtyard, content to spend the rest of the morning just watching the world go by rather than risking her life doing something stupid. At least she hadn't been too badly injured so she decided not to inform her parents of her little trip into the forest.
Lying down on one of the long seats around the edges of the courtyard, Rubes stared up at the sky. She couldn't help but wonder what could possibly have happened had she stayed in the forest rather than leaving at the first sign of peril and uncertainty. Would she have survived or would she be in eternal rest, forever following colourful butterflies through a field of daisies?
Monica had some free time, so she decided to spend the rain-free morning in the Main Courtyard. It was still a little too chilly for her, so Monica wrapped her black and yellow scarf tighter around herself and huddled into her cloak.
When she arrived to her destination, Monica saw another Hufflepuff in the place. Monica stepped to the girl, noticing she was a lot younger than the fourth year first assumed. Trying to appear kind and approchable, Monica sat down by her and waved.
"Hi," Monica greeted the girl. "I'm Monica," she introduced herself and waited to see whether the younger girl even wanted to speak to her before she continued the conversation.
Rubes continued to stare up at the sky, absent-mindedly humming to herself. The feeling of being back in a safe and familiar environment was a pleasant one and something that she wasn't planning to give up again unless there was a point in her future that required venturing into unexplored territory.
Hearing a voice, Rubes sat up and looked around to see another Hufflepuff girl sitting nearby. She wasn't someone Rubes had met before, but she seemed friendly. "Hi, nice to meet you. My name's Ruby, but you can call me Rubes if you like."
