An active, character-driven Hogwarts experience set in the early 2000s. Unique items, plots, and features. Non-canon; this isn't Harry Potter's story, it's ours.
Rubes wandered across the expansive lawn, hoping to bump into someone who might be up for a bit of adventure, not really caring who she met or what house or year level they were in. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be many people around. Ruby suspected most students were probably still in class, but she kept her fingers crossed that someone would make an appearance soon.
Wandering alone helped her think. OK, so she didn't successfully transfigure her worm into a piece of thread, but that didn't really matter. There was nothing a bit of practice couldn't fix. Besides, it would have been beyond weird if she had managed to get it right the first time.
She took a pause from her wanderings to lie on the grass and stare up at the sky, not really looking for anything in particular. Her older siblings had told her there was always something to do at Hogwarts but, right now, as the minutes ticked by, Rubes was starting to get incredibly bored.
"Where's all the free time recreation and entertainment Vianne and Ainsley told me about?" Rubes grumbled to herself. She glanced over in the direction of the Forbidden Forest. If it was adventure she wanted, that would be the place to go. She thought for a bit. Wasn't the forest out of bounds to all students, except in special circumstances? Would it be worth the risk of getting a detention for being somewhere she wasn't meant to be? Despite usually being well-behaved, there were times when Rubes felt rebellious and grew tired of keeping her nose clean and not getting into trouble. Now was one of those times.
