#8 - More Questions

"Hello!" Grace said. She'd seen Professor Fairburn before, thanks to the questions about the gerodenus, though she couldn't yet take care of magical creatures, so she wasn't too sure about her. "Uh. I was going to ask Professor Archerose a question about the castle."

She did wonder at why there were leaves in her hair, and something about her hat made her want to stare at it, which she did without much shame, though she thought it would be rude to ask about it. What if she'd tripped and fallen over something and didn't want to talk about it? Grace wouldn't want someone to ask her, and her father had always said to treat others as you would like to be treated. He even had a song.

Grace watched as Professor Fairburn did some kind of spell, wondering the whole time if it was normal for her to have leaves in her hair. She nodded and waited.

"Good morning," she said, "Um, I had a question about the castle. There's a um, a myth I think, or maybe a legend? About Rowena Ravenclaw's artefact room. Anyways, do you know where something like that might be, um, located?"

Grace was a little nervous that Professor Archerose would want to know why she was asking all these questions about the castle. She wanted this to be her own adventure, without grownups interfering in what she was doing like they always did. She could do things! She was still standing here, after all.

Grace tried not to be disappointed that there weren't any concrete answers. This was easier when Gerald was here, they could discuss things and they had each other to lean on. She was a little more nervous without him, because if she messed up her mistakes were just hers. Plus, Gerald was a Ravenclaw--maybe he would've had some insight.

She considered asking Professor Rivera during their lesson that afternoon, but Professor Archerose didn't seem to think that she would know it, or at least thought there was someone better suited for that kind of thing.

"Someone more familiar? Like another Ravenclaw professor?" she questioned. Who would be more familiar with history and stuff like that than the History of Magic professor? To be fair, she was imagining that the staff lounge was built up of cube-shaped offices for the teachers where they only graded homework or studied their subject. And they switched in and out magically when they needed to leave. That was so cool. "Don't you know, like, all of history?"
