Elizabeth was aware that some members of her house had Quidditch practice, while others had class. She herself had nothing to do but mull over her parents' letter and consider which boy in her year she would most like to marry. She had decided she would rank them. Of course, that was after she started off by saying she would prefer to take another path, so long as it pleased them.
The longer Elizabeth considered it, the more she realized that she was not really friends with anybody at Hogwarts. That wasn't their fault or hers, really, just that she had never felt that she had fit in as well. It was unfortunate, then, since in this situation she had no idea which of her classmates she should add to the list.
Wanting to get her mind off the topic for just a little bit, Elizabeth headed up to the spiral tower to use the bronze key that she had, and then go and do a little research in the library, perhaps on genealogy. She removed the key from her pocket and turned it in a door's lock.
The moderate-sized room was warm and cosy. Velvet curtains obscured the walls, and the floor was smothered by a soft rug. There were stacks of tiny, ever-varied cages everywhere - containing lit candles that flickered light around the room. A fireplace burned low, its crackling wood the only sound.
A silvery goose slept beside a comfortable armchair. It hiccuped, causing a snort of fiery embers from its beak. Opposite the armchair was a table with a stack of square cards. Three shuffled themselves out of the deck, then neatly aligned on the tablecloth.
A plaque reads:
"Three of us before you, yet not all is what it seems. Some of us climb in jungles, yet others swim in streams. We have many things in common, but can you spot the odd? Perhaps we fly, burrow, meow, or trod. Perhaps we come in blues, whites, yellows, or greens. So take a closer look upon our every feature, and don't be shy. One of us doesn't belong - so simply tell us why."
How to Play
Look at the pictures and spot the odd one out based solely on what you can see - colours, backgrounds, etc can all be taken into consideration. You only get one guess, and your character must say why it's the odd one.
If you're right, you win. When the pictures are chosen, there's an answer in mind. However, it's possible there may be more than one. If you pick an answer we didn't consider, but it's accurate, it still wins.
Winning earns 200 exp to their Creatures skill, and 20 exp to every other skill.
Although playing a mini-game, this is still an RP-thread. We strongly encourage immersing your character in this experience and challenge, as these threads are also designed for character development.

Elizabeth entered and looked around. The atmosphere was warmer than she had expected, and she had certainly not thought there would be a fireplace there. She wondered what else would be in the other rooms, if this one had a fireplace and even...a goose? She frowned. Stepping closer to the table, she looked at the three cards, then at the plaque.
It seemed simple enough. Point at the one that doesn't belong. Say why. She looked at the animals, considering it. Then, she pointed at the hippo. "The panda is black and white, and so is the zebra. But the hippopotamus isn't."

The panda munched its leaves, and rolled out of the card. It climbed Elizabeth's sleeve then vanished by the time it reached her shoulder. The Zebra galloped out of the card, circling her several times before it too vanished.
The hippopotamus card remained, motionless. The cards shuffled themselves back into the deck. The goose slept content, undisturbed.

Elizabeth winced at the panda climbing up her sleeve, having not expected it. She was glad that she'd won the game, but now she had to go back to her thoughts. She considered heading down to the Niffler pits for more keys, but decided against it. Maybe she'd find someone prestigious if she walked around before heading to the library.
She headed out of the room, still glad that she'd done it. She felt a bit cheered up by the game, actually, which was saying something.
