Spinning the Roses | #7 Afternoon

Clara was sore, her backside and arm ached from the fall so much so she was pretty sure she’d be sporting some new bruises later on! Casting a look down at her hand she winced again, the dirt and stuff mixed into the graze she had making her pull a face. “Those centaurs were awfully close to the forest edge weren’t they.” she grumbled, casting a look at Jamie.

She knew without him even saying he’d hurt himself as well in that fall, just by the look on his face and the way he was holding himself as they walked. “we can just leave this for today maybe, make our way to the hospital wing...” she suggested, offering him a small smile.

They were in luck - despite the dwindling afternoon and sunshine, there were several blue roses in full bloom. They were in perfect condition for use in potions, though they were a bit out of reach. The three roses required standing on the railing, and even some level of climbing as 1st years weren't known for being especially tall.

Clara winced, her hand was hurting quite a bit now, her wrist to. Scowling she looked down at her hand before carefully tucking it into her robes and following after Jamie. Glancing over at him she shook her head, shooting him a kind smile. Don't be daft, it wasn't anyone's fault." she told him firmly, not wanting him to blame himself for what was clearly an accident.

As they continued to look for her final ingredient, Jamie, once again spotted something and went to retrieve the blue roses ahead of them. Before she had the chance to say so, Jamie had took off, with her trailing behind again. As he dropped his bag, she moved it out the way and watched him climb onto a railing in order to reach for the flower. "Be careful." she told him.

As he grabbed the flower and landed beside her, she shook her head offering him a small smile. "Nah, just the one should do." she said, "Thanks."

Clara smiles, dropping her bag to the floor and shrugging off her robe for a moment. Bracing her arm to her chest she scowled at the climb for a moment before turning back to Jamie, deciding to accept his help, just a little. Sterling herself against the pain in her arm as she grabbed the railing, she used his knee for the first extra boost and climbed atop the fence.

Grabbing a blue rose, she carefully placed it between her teeth and lowered herself to sit on the railing before jumping down and landing carefully on the ground. Smiling at Jamie she opened her bag, slipping the goer in, she shrugged on her robes and picked up her bag. “There we go!” she said happily
