Seeing the nifflers had been nice, and something for her to do outside. She had considered approaching the lake to see if that bird she had seen earlier had remained there, but she had doubted that it would still be there after her own fighting the boggart. Well, her and the other boy, anyways. She still wondered what his name was.
Grace headed up to the spiral tower, bronze key in hand. Choosing a door at random, she put the key in the lock and turned it, hoping for a good way to spend her afternoon if nothing else. Maybe inspiration would strike her and she would figure out more about the artefact room, wherever that was. She didn't have the slightest clue, and she wondered if anyone else would know.
The moderate-sized room was warm and cosy. Velvet curtains obscured the walls, and the floor was smothered by a soft rug. There were stacks of tiny, ever-varied cages everywhere - containing lit candles that flickered light around the room. A fireplace burned low, its crackling wood the only sound.
A silvery goose slept beside a comfortable armchair. It hiccuped, causing a snort of fiery embers from its beak. Opposite the armchair was a table with a stack of square cards. Three shuffled themselves out of the deck, then neatly aligned on the tablecloth.
A plaque reads:
"Three of us before you, yet not all is what it seems. Some of us climb in jungles, yet others swim in streams. We have many things in common, but can you spot the odd? Perhaps we fly, burrow, meow, or trod. Perhaps we come in blues, whites, yellows, or greens. So take a closer look upon our every feature, and don't be shy. One of us doesn't belong - so simply tell us why."
How to Play
Look at the pictures and spot the odd one out based solely on what you can see - colours, backgrounds, etc can all be taken into consideration. You only get one guess, and your character must say why it's the odd one.
If you're right, you win. When the pictures are chosen, there's an answer in mind. However, it's possible there may be more than one. If you pick an answer we didn't consider, but it's accurate, it still wins.
Winning earns 200 exp to their Creatures skill, and 20 exp to every other skill.
Although playing a mini-game, this is still an RP-thread. We strongly encourage immersing your character in this experience and challenge, as these threads are also designed for character development.

Grace entered the room, which was much more decorated than the room with the book in it, though it was equally as exciting. She examined the cages for a split second, then turned to the fire-hiccuping goose, staring in wonder. She was momentarily startled that the cards had shuffled themselves out, but she looked at them.
Reading the plaque, Grace looked closer at the cards. The first one she thought was a dragonfly, then the next looked like a chicken, and the final one was a rabbit. One thing immediately became clear to her. She pointed to the rabbit card as the odd one out.
"The dragonfly and the chicken both have wings, but the rabbit doesn't have any wings." she said, recalling the last part of the plaque, with the part about telling why. It made sense to her. She had learned animals in kindergarten, and she knew wings and legs and all of that.
The dragonfly's wings moved and it flew out of the card, circling Grace then vanishing. The chicken clucked, hopping out of the card to stretch its wings. Fluffing its feathers, it pecked at the card then vanished.
The rabbit card remained, motionless. The cards shuffled themselves back into the deck. The goose slept content, undisturbed.

Grace stared in wonder at the moving dragonfly, and then again as the chicken popped out of the cards. That was so cool! She laughed, wondering if the rabbit card would do anything, but it didn't. Maybe that was because it was the one different card! She cheered a little, then stopped, not wanting to wake the goose.
She left the room, a little bit uncertain about what she would do next. She was still uncertain as to where that artefact room would be, and after her own near-death experience she was hesitant to go exploring on her own in a room that might be full of those snuffrons. She assumed they liked dark old stuff, so she would wait until tomorrow, if she could find something to do.
