Amelia had decided to go outside for the rest of this October morning. It was nice out and she found herself in the beast reserve before she realized it. She hadn't visited in the past, so she looked around to see what it was all about. It was rather pretty and there was a huge sandy pit near by.
Walking to the sandpit, she knelt down and ran her fingers through the coarse sand, smiling at the touch. It was a pretty joyous feeling, one that made many think about vacations to the beach.
She knew that little creatures lived here and remembered that some liked gems. Looking through her bag, she managed to find one and held it up to see if any of the creatures might come and see her.
It didn't take long for a niffler to notice the shiny gem. He hurried over to her, gaze fixated on the treasure it desperately wanted. It glanced at Amelia and determined that the way she was holding it must be a form of offering it as a gift, which was all the incentive the niffler needed to lunge forward.
He quickly climbed to her arm - her uniform provided an easy grip. Once close enough, he made grabby hands at the gem. Snatching his treasure, the niffler leaped free and landed safely butt-first on the sand. He hugged the gem and secured it, then burrowed deep into the sand in search of a key.
Perhaps it was beginner's luck, but Amelia earned the ideal reward on first try. The niffler emerged with a bronze key clutched in hand, which he held above his head in offer for Amelia to accept his gift in appreciation for the gem. Once free of the key, he retrieved to his gem then hurried off into some bushes.
Amelia smiled in amusement as the niffler made it's way to her arm, gripping at her uniform before it took the gem. It was fast, but she found the interaction rather cute and she pulled her hand back as she watched it. They were cute creatures...
Once it buried under the sand, she wondered with curiosity what it was doing, until it appeared with a beautiful bronze key. Taking it carefully, she stood and smoothed her fingers across it, before watching it go off into the bush. Turning, she began to walk, stuffing the key into her bag.
