Ruby sat on the grass and gazed out over the lake. She was still disappointed that the strange animal had been nothing but a transfigured cat, however, she believed she'd eventually see something of interest. The world was full of things to learn.

Gerald stood nearby. He wasn't sure if he could sit down here, but he was happy to have made a friend. Watching her look over the lake, he wondered what she was thinking about.
It was probably something adventurous. Hopefully, it was just skipping stones though. "Ruby? What are you looking at?"
Rubes lay back on the grass and stared up at the sky.
"To be honest, I'm not really looking at anything in particular, just watching the world go round and thinking of all the things that are out there waiting to be discovered."
Rubes, once again, had questions to ponder. "I don't think they move by themselves. I think the wind pushes them along."
She pulled herself back up into a sitting position. "The world's full of adventure, excitement and things to discover, we're always learning something new."
Rubes wasn't quite sure what Gerald meant. She hadn't heard anyone else talking about dares and she wasn't sure if she'd be willing to try one, especially one that involved the Black Lake.
"I haven't heard of any dares and, to be honest, I don't think I'd be willing to try one involving the Black Lake. It sounds dangerous. I think I'd much rather prefer a dare that's fun and not high-risk."
"Uh, um, something about being in the lake, I think. But uh..." He tried to think of other dares. "I think they were in the common rooms, it was in the one for my house, and uh, there's a lot there."
There was one for eating weird food, making forts, that sort of thing. "Oh! What about going to Hagrid's house?"
