Walking along the main corridor, Ruby hummed a happy tune. She was glad to finally be at Hogwarts after hearing so much about the school from her siblings.
Rubes often wondered where life would take her and if she'd ever be as successful as her parents, but she knew that success never came easily and that sometimes she may have to fail before she could succeed. She repeated an old quote her Grandpa Wilson had often said:
"You learnmorefromfailurethan from success. Don't let itstopyou. Failurebuildscharacter."
Gerald sat in the Main corridor. He didn't have classes today, and he wasn't feeling hungry, so he might as well read all day. Using his Potions Textbook as a Disguise to his comic book, he leaned against a wall.
Was it really worth doing this? A thought tugged at his mind. You are trying to make friends, but sit alone because you can?
He frowned. Gerald wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do. The others were probably having fun without him. Ryan was probably bored with him already. Gerald felt bad about not being brave enough to say more, but it was if his mind was stuck in glue.
As she wandered along the corridor, Ruby spied a Ravenclaw boy sitting by himself. He looked bored and lonely and appeared to be reading his Potions book. Perhaps he was revising for the homework session that was coming after lunch. Rubes decided that this would be a good opportunity to see if she could make another friend.
He jumped if that was possible from a sitting position. Closing his book quickly, he looked to see it was the girl from his potions class. He couldn't remember if he heard their name, but Gerald couldn't remember it right now. Should he answer? Could the answer? He grits his teeth and said a little stronger than he meant. "Good Morning"
Ruby noticed the boy jumped when she called out to him. "Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I'm Ruby Farrowbrooke. You can call me Rubes if you like. Are you lonely? You're more than welcome to hang around with me if you want to, rather than sitting here by yourself."
Rubes wasn't sure how the boy would react to her offer of friendship, but she would leave it up to him to decide whether or not he wanted company.
She seemed nice. Was he lonely? Gerald wasn't sure. He wanted to be around other people, but he was okay by himself, wasn't he? "Hi Rubes. Gerald" He said rather quickly.
He smiled, and waved. Maybe he should have done that when he said hi. "You can sit with me if you want?"
Gerald immediately felt a Rush. That felt amazing! He actually talked properly to someone his age! and a Girl no less! He needed a nap now, that drained him.
marrow came threw looking for rubes marrow was suppose to follow her but got lost a bit spotting her talking to another lad made him happy maybe hopefully marrow would make another friend."hey rubes its me " he said in delight closes the distance between the two. he thought remember back straight head up and with confidence."and im marrow " he said to the other lad not sure of his name."
Ruby's eyes lit up and she smiled when she saw her friend. "Hey, Marrow!" She turned to Gerald. "Gerald, this is Marrow. Marrow, Gerald."
Rubes made herself comfortable. "Isn't this fun? A Ravenclaw, a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor hanging out and talking together. I think this is a good way to show other students that people from different housescanbe friends. Gerald, would you like to come exploring with us?"
"Great!" Once again, Rubes sat dazzled with happiness. She'd made another friend, though deep down she still wondered what people really thought of her. After all, she'd tried to make friends with a Slytherin and that hadn't gone so well. She supposed that some people were more open to being friends with her than others were.
he looked at the guy " you alright friend " he smiled and offered his hand has if to shake Gerald." i hope im not damping on your planes." he felt nervous and was really unsure if this guy liked him are not. he start to feel like he was at one of his grandparents meetings were he was invisible but none of that he thought this is suppose to his home away from home.
