Your Character

Each character has a personal inventory for storing items. Many can be found and used throughout the RPG to further progress or for added fun. Some can be traded among other members or exchanged for prizes, and others used in quests / tasks with rewarding outcomes. There's also Potions and their ingredients, and various miscellaneous things you may find or buy along the way.
An essential part of HAU is helping members to tell the story they want for their characters, within reason. Everyone has different personalities, goals, and skills. A part of what determines progress are skills -- your character's magical abilities, such as casting curses or flying on a broomstick. Leveling them up gains rewards and new opportunities. They can be worked on through classes, quests, events, and various other features.

When your character application is approved, you then fill out the Sorting & Wand Form. Each wand core and wood have several attributes, though only one of each is applied to every wand -- two characters may have the same core and wood, yet their wands may have different attributes such as boosting a particular skill or giving bonuses for certain tasks. These wands are specially made for HAU; though some canon woods were named, or we took inspiration from canon, these are not the same as those you may be used to. In true HP fashion, no two wands are exactly the same.
More than just an owl, cat, rat, or toad is allowed at HAU -- and the list continues to grow. You can only have 1 pet at a time, so choose wisely. Pets can be bought in the WizShop, and is displayed in your profile. Pets can be interacted with, and come with various item or task advantages.
Active posters are rewarded with customised dormitories, where they can add items and decorations to reflect their character's personality / preferences. All new members are still required to choose their bed. Any pet your character has may also appear in the dormitory.
