Martha had missed the start of the match, as she had realised that she had forgotten to post the letter she had written home about the upcoming Ball. It would likely be impossible for her parents to send anything in time, if at all, but there was no harm in trying!
There was also the matter of the permission slip to Hogsmeade, which again she had forgotten about. She was starting to wonder if perhaps she should somehow get her hands on a remembrall. At least then she would have a warning that she had forgotten something. Something like she was broke and could never afford one of those. Oh well, perhaps there was a way to make her own memory enhancing charm?
Dear Mum and Dad,
Hello, I hope you are both well. I have just been reminded that I have yet to return the permission slip for Hogsmeade. I am so sorry for forgetting over the summer, and have enclosed it for your consideration?
There is also the Founders Ball coming up, and I wondered if we had a dress of sorts lying around? Again, I'm so sorry for the short notice, and I understand if it won't be possible.
Yours with love and in Scatterbrainedness, Martha
Whatever the outcome (though she would be even luckier to be going to the Ball now), she deposited the letter to the owlery and made her way to stands, arriving just in time for the first goal. She hadn't intended to take the seat that she had, but in all the excitement she managed to trip over someones feet and land in one anyway. Oh well, it wasn't a bad view from here, she supposed!
Once she had finally settled into her accidently gained seat, she began to cheer for her House, even though she knew that Amelia was likely in favour of the opposition. Oh well, it wasn't as if she was playing or anything, so she supposed she could forgive her for cheering on her friend instead.
What she hadn't counted on was Hufflepuff having such an ill fated game. Two injuries, probably quite serious, and who exactly had caught the snitch at the end anyway? It seemed everyone had tried their best, but even with the bonus points forfeit, it would be her House that took this match. That meant there was going to be some buzz at dinner, so it was just as well she actually liked quidditch! she doesn't didn't fancy playing for herself.
Amelia yelled at the skies as the two seekers went for the snitch, though she could barely see the small thing. When they suddenly both grasped something, she held her breathe in anticipation. What was going to happen? Who had caught it?! Had they both caught it? Madam Hooch was discussing something with her Head of House and Amelia was gripping the banister waiting.
When the results were given, she yelled out in frustration! A Tie? Seriously? If they couldn't catch it right, they should have got them back into the air! Amelia turned and walked out of the stands and towards the castle in complete annoyance at Hooch. She would find the Hufflepuff team later to give her should pats, maybe even a hug.
