An active, character-driven Hogwarts experience set in the early 2000s. Unique items, plots, and features. Non-canon; this isn't Harry Potter's story, it's ours.
For the young Gryffindor there could be no alternative, no other career for her other than to be come a professional Quidditch player. She longed for it, hungered for it with every fibre of her soul. "I hope to become a Quidditch player one day, maybe even play for the Harpies." Oh how she desperately wished such a thing would come to pass. But the future was not yet written, Gen could only hope and work towards such a goal.
"What about you?" Genevieve wondered if her new friend fancied a similar career as her parents or if like Gen she desired to forge a new path, instead of following an existing trail. Gen could not work for the ministry, the idea of being stuck behind a desk for the rest of her life was anathema to Genevieve who longed for the outdoors.
Rubes had often wondered which career path she'd most like to follow when she finished her education. There seemed to be plenty of options available to her, but first she needed to understand exactly what type of magic she was capable of.
"I'm not really sure what I'd like to do when I'm older. I've been thinking of either following Mum into Magical Law Enforcement or doing the same as my older brother and becoming a Magizoologist. To be honest, being a Magizoologist sounds better than being stuck in an stuffy office all day."

"Do not worry you have plenty of time to decide." Genevieve said soothingly. It was a lot to take in and consider, even Genevieve did not fully know what she might achieve or be. She hoped with all of her heart that it would be as a professional Quidditch Seeker. The red haired girl smiled at the thought of being a Magizoologist. "It certainly would be an interesting career." Gen did not know if it could be a path for her, but it certainly sounded and looked like fun.
"You will know what is right for you." Genevieve said encouragingly.
"True. We've got lots of time to make up our minds about what types of occupations we'd like to follow."
Rubes was getting a sore butt from sitting on the hard floor of the corridor. She was enjoying talking to Genevieve, but she didn't want to spend much more time seated on uncomfortable ground. Rubes tried to think of something else that might be fun to do. "Have you ever been to the top of the Spiral Tower? I was up there earlier this afternoon and the view is wonderful. Perhaps we could go for a walk up there."

"Yeah though if you speak to the older students they tell me that the time will fly by." Genevieve did not know if this was actually the case and knew she would not know the truth until she grew older. Part of her wanted to be older, simply so she could achieve her dream, but on the same note Genevieve didn't as she was not ready to grow old.
"I've not been today but I have time before my next lesson." Genevieve said, standing up and stretching her back as she did so.
"Since this is my first year, I'm not very well acquainted with many of the older students. I have a couple of first-year friends in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, but I'm still yet to become friendly with any of the Slytherins. It would be nice to add a Slytherin to my little gang of buddies."
Rubes stood and stretched her legs. "My mum always says that time goes faster when you keep yourself busy. Exploring the Spiral Tower will give us something fun to do."
