Oisin Gowan's Sorting Ceremony

"Gowan, Oisin!" was barely out of Professor McGonagall's mouth before a young boy was already half-way through the crowd and up on the raised podium where the Sorting was happening.

He murmured some excuses and apologies if he bumped into a peer of his, maybe stepped on another's foot. Oisin was so excited, doubly so when the Professor correctly pronounced his name. Not many people could do that on their first try.

When Oisin sat on the chair, or rather threw himself upon it, he gave the gathered group of first years and other students a wide grin, sitting up straighter. This was all rather exciting, wasn't it? Going to a magical school. It was like being a superhero, but younger.

The boy tapped his foot on the side of the chair, and waved enthusiastically to some people that he met on the train, most of them still unsorted. 

The sudden movement made the glasses slip down his face and Oisin barely managed to catch them before they fell and broke on the floor. He only just got them, it would be just horrible if he managed to shatter the glass before even starting the class.

The shapes and patterns on students clothes and the hall disappeared, before Oisin put them back on. His vision was still black, white and grey, but hey, at least now he knew if the colours matched at least a little when he put his clothes on.

Wasn't magic wonderful?
