Jaxen paused mid-chew when Ezra made a comment about the potential absence of Professor McGongall - he had never known his Transfiguration teacher to miss a lesson, not once in all of his six years at Hogwarts. He wondered what had prompted such a comment from his baby brother, but this wasn't the first time Ezzie had made odd comments.
Brushing off his confusion, he swallowed and tried to smile enthusiastically at the mention of History... There was a reason he had dropped that after his OWLs, and it wasn't just because he didn't need it for his future career aspirations.
"Uh yeah, fun... And pretty useful for brewing potions" he muttered, trying to keep up with the pace of the conversation as Ezra seemed to hop so fluidly from one topic to another - was he like this when he was twelve? He didn't think so...
Turning his attention back to Martha, while also trying to keep his body slightly angled towards Ezra as to not cut him completely out of the conversation - even as he seemed occupied by the sweet treat Martha had gifted him (he tried not to cringe at how he hadn't seen Ezra eat anything for breakfast just yet).
"Hyo Kahn... Does sound familiar" he interjected, brow furrowing as he tried to think about where he'd heard that name before. He was a cursebreaker... Had his dad mentioned him? Ugh. Why couldn't he remember? A lot had happened recently to keep his mind busy.
Martha's internship did seem interesting though, it almost made Jax want to do another... Actually, maybe he should, that would probably make his Academy application look better. Wouldn't it?
Jax finished off his breakfast while Martha was occupied by her mail, only looking up when she asked him about the Quidditch World Cup - she knew he wasn't a Quidditch fan, and her tone told him that she didn't expect him to attend the event - lucky for her, his Grandpa had other plans.
"Actually yeah, my Grandpa wanted to take us last summer before it was cancelled? I'm assuming once it's announced he'll tell us that the plan is back on" he didn't love Quidditch, but he loved his Grandpa and so he was willing to put aside his disinterest to spend quality time with him.
He didn't know how many more opportunities he'd have to see his Grandpa after all... Y'know, with his exams and then Academy stuff.
"Wait, what?" Jax felt his heart leap at the revelation about their Academy applications. What did she mean by extraordinary? What did that even mean?
"Okay, you've gotta tell me what that means... Let's go" he beckoned her to follow him to class, waving to Ezra as his brother departed shortly before.
This could change everything. It definitely gave him more to think (and panic) about.

Martha chuckled softly at Jaxen's little brother being so cute and insisting it was okay for her to interrupt. She was glad he took a piece of fudge (and seemed to like it so much!).
"We're probably going as well so it would be nice to hang out for a bit there..." Especially since both of them weren't big fans of the sport itself. She knew Sophia and Lucky would probably go as well but they were Quaffleheads.
It would be nice to have someone else who was on her level.
"I need to find my siblings to give them some fudge as well..." Martha remarked as Ezra left and Jaxen mentioned they needed to go. Martha finished the rest of her juice and grabbed her things.
Standing up, she sighed and headed out of the Great Hall with Jaxen, "I wished I knew what it meant..."
She had been puzzling over it ever since Curse-Breaker Kahn had told her about it. What exactly did he mean by extraordinary and how did Martha get some of it for herself.

He hoped that Insu was wrong. Surely Appa would get to see him longer than a minute, wouldn’t he? He wanted to see him, to get to talk to him - to see how Dakho was doing, too.
He missed them all so much.
But Insu mentioned that the shining thing had been checked so he had no problem getting closer to it to inspect it before he returned to eating.
”What? No need to be wasteful.” mouth half full he made sure to finish up his food quickly and watched as Insu left - not telling him if he was clean enough for class.
Wait!
He frowned, brows furrowing.
”You didn’t tell me if I was clean, Insu…” he muttered in Korean, shaking his head before grabbing his stuff up and following his cousin out of the Great Hall.
Well… no answer was better than saying he was still a mess, right?
