As curfew began, most of the Ravenclaws had already relocated celebrations to their house common room where snacks awaited them. Prefects headed out to patrol, and Professors quickly filed from the hall.
For those who lingered a while longer, it was done so in continued disappointed of Headmaster Rickard having cancelled dessert as of the previous night. There was a definite chill in the air though, as many yarned to bundle up in the warmth of their beds for by a fireplace.
Levi pushed his plate away as he faced the others around him. "Yeah.. I think I'm done." He whispered as he drank his final cup of water before clearing up his plate. He knew that the House Elves also did the cleaning up post dinner and knew they worked quite hard. He unlike some of the other students tried to help them out by ensuring that his plate was clean and everything was easily cleaned. He knew magic did most of the work but still wanted to make sure he did his little part to help.
Looking over to Reena and the others, he smiled softly as he nodded softly and slowly stood up. " I'm heading back to the common room if anyone wants to come. Just try not to lose us any more points. We're kinda in the lead aye." He said with a cheeky smile on his face as he left the Great Hall and made his way to the Common Room.
Before the first year could introduce himself, another younger boy came bounding over. It seemed as though they were friends, so perhaps she would just leave them to it from here on out. Although, wasn't that King? He'd been really impressive on the quidditch pitch earlier, especially considering he was only a first year! With that in mind, perhaps he deserved to eat like a 'King'!
It seemed as if King himself found that remark to be somewhat hilarious, though he seemingly attempted to stifle his laughter so that no one in the immediate vicinity would be wearing his dinner. She was grateful, as she often spilled on her robes without any help.
About to leave the younger boys to their own devices, King then apologised to her, just in case anything had escaped as he had tried to control his laughter. Nope, no food on her robes yet, not even her own.
"If you did, then I think you missed", she assured him with a warm smile. Oh, did he know Toby? She had just asked the other boy if he did, but it seemed as though he was familiar to King, at least.
"Yes, I'm Martha", she confirmed, wondering if he had met any of the others too. He did just say too, so he must have at least met Amy.
"By the way, congrats on the match! You played a good game.", she then praised him for his performance on the pitch. Not that half the House hadn't already done so, but her head was often in the clouds, so it wasn't unusual for her to be the last at anything.

Jaxen was left feeling disappointed when the food disappeared from the table. He'd been able to at least eat some more of what was on his plate, but he hadn't finished. At least there would be more food waiting in the common room- maybe he could grab some snacks and run before his housemates got too involved in the celebrations.
Leaving the table, he hurried out of the hall in hope that he might reach the common room before King and the rest of the Quidditch players did. He was all for a bit of house spirit, but he also just wanted to go to bed and put the day behind him...
Soon he would be going home for the holidays, that was something he could look forward to.

Toby had finished everything on his plate, his jubilation obviously giving him extra energy to scoff it at record speed. He was even in the process of reaching for a second helping when the food disappeared from the table and his hand dropped defeated to thunk against the wooden surface.
"What the hell?! They bloody rob dessert from us and now we don't even get a few more minutes to eat?" it was outrageous. At least soon he could count on his mother's cooking, that was better than any food he received at Hogwarts and she wouldn't deprive him of his basic needs.
Still grumbling, he left the hall and made his way to the common room where he hoped one of his housemates would share their secret stash of sweets with him.

Joe sighed in relief when she reassured him that he had not spit notably. He tilted his head slightly when she confirmed that she was indeed Toby’s sister. So Emmy did have a twin?
Either way, he beamed at her after that. “That‘s great! Toby’s my best friend. Did you know I was spending Christmas with your family? Ryan too, he’s our other best friend but I think he’s up in the Common Room already.“ Once Joe had started telling Martha about it, he somehow couldn’t stop.
“So Toby and Emmy both play Quidditch, do you? I mean, I know you don’t play on our House team, but do you like to play?“
He beamed even more brightly, if possible, when she congratulated him. “Thanks! I‘ve had loads of fun.“
Joe looked somewhat wistfully when the food disappeared from his plate but he had actually managed to eat enough.
“Ugh. I guess that’s that. Time to face those stairs.“, he groaned at the thought of having to climb all the way to the Ravenclaw tower.
Saoirse had needed a moment away from people once the Quidditch match had ended, and her stomach was far too queasy to handle any form of food. She had spent nearly an hour sitting in a dark, quiet corner of the corridor with her head in her hands. She emptied her mind and imagined lying on a boat bobbing in the turquoise waves, sipping juice and listening to her father's stereo.
Eventually Saoirse had collected herself and made her way to the Great Hall, knowing she had to eat despite not feeling hungry. She seated herself on the very edge of the table, and managed to stomach some bread and butter. She ate quickly and in silence, and then got up from the table without speaking to anyone.
She felt embarrassed of her reaction, but at the same time oddly pleased that she had gone up to the stands and faced her fears. However, both those feelings were smothered by the overwhelming need to sleep. So, Saoirse wearily lumbered up from the bench and headed back to her common room.

Amara rolled her eyes at Levi's assumption of what Ravenclaw's win meant for them, figuring he was certainly not one who knew what he was talking about regarding the sport. She appreciated Ravenclaw's victory on a personal level, and would have pitied them if they'd lost to Hufflepuff, but no it didn't do Slytherin any favors apart from presenting a worthy opponent.
She caught Elizabeth wrinkling her nose at the term "Goss", and tried to make eye contact to roll her eyes again as a show of mutual dislike for such nonsense. It's what she assumed Elisabeths's reason was for that reaction.
Reena's hesitation was noticed, but Amara didn't mind. It was smart to think before answering, even if th younger girl should know better than to consider not answering Amara Seabrook of all people. She nodded at the semi-confirmation she received, taking a moment to think about if she should proceed. She sniffed arrogantly when asked why she wanted to know, shaking her head as she sipped her pumpkin juice.
'Curiosity,' Amara said, nudging aside her finished plate. 'Sallow is influential -- close to royalty, they say. Have you met him? I believe his sister is in your class?' She shrugged to let Reena know her response to that was optional.
She breathed tightly through her teeth when Levi had the audacity to interrupt. Amara shot him a warning glare, then glanced around the table again while he occupied Reena. Their conversation about the ball and whatever was boring and unimportant, much to her continued annoyance.
Something Lindsey said caught her attention, though. 'Hoping who was okay in the end?' Amara asked while blatantly ignoring Sinead.
Aware of Levi leaving the table, Amara nodded at his comment about joining him in the common room. Even though dinner was over, she didn't budge from the table yet -- still focused on Reena.
'We should talk,' she said, a clear invitation of higher social status if ever there was one. Seabrook made it no secret how selective she was of who even breathed near her. 'Perhaps you'll join me in the common room? I think you have potential, and I could help. If you're interested, of course.'
Amara still wanted to hear a response to her question, so Lindsey was also permitted to join them though was less notably requested.
And with a nod, Amara rose to leave the hall. She strode away from the Slytherin table and towards the familiar path to the dungeons. Tryouts were cancelled, which wasn't ideal but she'd have time to schedule something else over the holidays. Assuming Samantha and that first year were still interested.

Reena raised her eyebrows ever so slightly at Seabrook's response. She had not expected a reply at all and now she was left wondering what Seabrook's intentions were asking her about the Sallows. Was she hoping to do some networking? That seemed as good an answer as any to her and she left it at that.
"Yes, I've played a game of gobstones against him not too ago." She nodded at the mention of Mathias Sallow's sister, however Reena was not closely accquainted with her. After some consideration she added: "He still owes me a rematch."
Reena looked to her other side sharply when Levi moved his plate there, feeling flabbergasted, that firstly he had decided to move and secondly interrupt Seabrook of all people.
Since she was still mid conversation with the before mentioned girl, Reena did not respond to Levi right away. She did note however that she felt flustered and maybe even flattered by his forwardness and energy but his timing (and manners) were a little off.
"Umm... I'm wearing a royal blue dress with a green ribbon. If you can manage to match this quickly, sure." She smiled at him, still feeling flustered by his sudden attention. She felt nervous but she couldn't tell if that came from Levi or from Seabrook's sudden interest in her or both. "I don't know if it has a theme.", she said, furrowing her brows as she tried to remember if anyone had said anything about a theme.
She glanced back at Seabrook as she finished her dinner and tea- the latter proving to be a mistake as Seabrook adressed her once again, saying she had potential and they should talk back in the Common Room. Reena promptly choked on her tea and after coughing it off into her arm she nodded.
When she turned back to Levi she found him already leaving. That was fine too, she was not sure whether she would have felt comfortable discussing Seabrook's invitation with him yet anyway- despite their new label as friends.

Lindsey was finishing up the meal when is disappeared and shrugged as she swallowed the last bite of her own food. As she began to gather her things, he looked up at Amara as she asked her question. Lindsey didn't have a chance to answer when Amara stood and walked away. As if it wasn't obvious, Lindsey concern was for the person who was knocked out during the game that she had been absent for. Lindsey knew Amara could careless, but she did and that was just who Lindsey was.
Standing up, she followed other fellow Slytherin's through the Great Halls and towards the dungeons.

It was nice to know something others didn't know and he smiled at the fifth year before he looked down at her plate. She was nice, which was something he didn't see much of from older students. Only her and one other fifth year had been kind to her that he could remember. The Slytherin that he didn't really know and now her. Well, maybe his luck was changing. At her introduction, he smiled and was about to answer when Joe came to the table.
"Oh... The match... I... um... Yeah, it was good, you did really great, Joe," he said with a bit of embarrassment. He didn't like the game, but he wasn't going to tell Joe that, especially since he had done so amazing. Jamie looked over at the other Martha whole her and Joe talked for a moment.
"I'm Jamie, by the way," he said calmly when he had a chance to say something.
