The Great Hall was alive with chatter as students and staff flooded in after the match, and to escape the bitterly cold air. Some did linger outside or took the long path back to the castle to catch up with friends or accompany the players.
Ravenclaw house were in high and boastful spirits, eager to celebrate their Quidditch victory. Whenever they were ready to retire to their common room for the night, and to continue celebrations there, party snacks and drinks awaited them on behalf of the house-elves.
@samantha and @teena are required to meet Amara Seabrook on the pitch when dinner ends, for a private Tryout. CANCELLED
As it's a Quidditch day, Professors etc are more lenient about students lingering in corridors or outside during dinner. This gives members a chance to catch up with friends or take their time heading to dinner. However, this leniency only applies to social RPing -- anything else may risk detention, as per usual.
Dinner proceeds at its usual pace. When it ends, all students must be back inside.

Having spent all day in the library, flitting through books as they caught her attention, Elizabeth wasn't surprised to see she was relatively early to the table. She intended to set a good example, as a Prefect, anyways. From the chatter at Ravenclaw, she deduced that they had won. Good for them, Elizabeth thought in passing.
She truly had no emotions one way or the other when it came to the sport, or even really too much for house points unless she was the one losing them or gaining them. That wasn't to say that it didn't feel good knowing that Slytherin was in the lead, and considerably so. She was more focused on the days coming up.
She put a small amount on her plate, assuming that she would be able to get more if she was hungry. She had an eye out for her fellow Slytherin fifth years, wanting some actually interesting conversation. The second years chattering at their friends about horses a few feet away was rather annoying.
After the excitement of the match, Rylan felt that Ravenclaw had definitely earned their victory. He felt bad for Hufflepuff, as it seemed that luck just hadn't been on their side. It was almost as if they had been jinxed to throw the game, and he was glad that he wouldn't be eating at the Hufflepuff table tonight.
As it was, the mood at neither table really affected him, so he took a seat and helped himself to some meat and potatoes. He'd had time to check in on Bella before making his way here, and he hoped to try and spend a little time with her tonight. It was great that he finally had his own little pet to look after, but now the real test would begin.
As other Gryffindors began to arrive, he decided to make conversation with a few that he had seen at the match. At least it would hopefully keep the conversation away from the lack of dessert, which he still thought was entirely unfair!
"Hey, Hufflepuff got really unlucky, yeah?", he spoke perhaps a little too brightly. Some of his housemates may have been rooting for them, but it was what it was. A funny old game, was quidditch.

Lindsey walked into the Great Hall, having missed the whole match, to find the Ravenclaw table in high spirits. They must have won and after listening to a few small conversations, it was confirmed by others. It was a shame for hufflepuff, but that was the luck of the draw. As she found her place at the Slytherin Table, she looked over and saw Elizabeth sitting not far away.
"Hey Elizabeth... Have ye had a chance to go to Saint Mungo?" Lindsey asked her fellow Slytherin, knowing that she had been given the internship as well. "I went and it was very eye openin' to the whole medical world, but also quiet busy." Lindsey had placing some of her favorites on her plate, though did grab an apple and some nuts to put into her bag for later.

Amelia stormed into the Great Hall in a flurry of ruffled feathers before she plopped down near some other Gryffindors. Hufflepuff should have won and this whole tie crap was for the birds. Literally. Ties didn't happen, if they couldn't make a good call, they should have continued the match into the evening and forgotten about dinner! Eyes went over towards the Hufflepuff table and she groaned again in understanding.
They had been beaten and it felt awful to have that happen to them.
At the comment from Rylan, her eyes shot over to him.
"You sound rather pleased with that," she said in maybe a bit too harsh of a tone.
Jamie had gotten lost in the crowd of Ravenclaw students heading towards the Great Hall. It was hard to break away, he wanted to, but before he could he was at the spirited Ravenclaw table, being given some food from a few older students who were excited and barely paying attention. Jamie finally grabbed a plate made by an older student and found his place at the end away from the hustle and bustle of the excitement.
He really wished he could see some muggle sports, the whole Quidditch thing was crazy to him. Grabbing some nuts, he stuffed them in his pocket and dug into his food. The lack of lunch causing his stomach to lurch in hunger after the first bite.
Martha walked into the Great Hall, ready to bask in her House's victory. She glanced toward her sister at the Gryffindor table, but decided that maybe someone in blue was the last person she wanted to talk to right now. For all they were extremely close, it occurred to her that they hadn't spent much time together lately. Perhaps after dinner she could suggest something?
Of course, there was the possibility that they would both be attending the Founder's Ball together, although remote (oh why hadn't she posted that letter yesterday when she had been meant to?), so maybe they could catch up a little there? Either way, she would think of something, hopefully before her sister did. Anything Amy came up with usually risked House points, not to mention her chances of becoming a Prefect!
Taking a seat, she couldn't help but grin at the infectious energy coming from her fellow Ravenclaws. It seemed as though a certain first year didn't share in their enthusiasm. She still hadn't really gotten to know any of the first years, but surely there was something she could do to cheer him up a little?
"Hello", she greeted him while trying to think of something that could maybe make him smile. At the very least, to start up a conversation.
"Did you know that the ancient Greeks believed that hazelnuts could treat coughing and baldness?", she blurted out. Wait what? Oh well, she had seen the nuts that he had stowed away, so...
"There are probably potions that can do that better, not that I think you need to worry about baldness.", she then added, turning a little pink. Unless, he was cursed or something, but this was already going about as well as a niffler in a jewellery shop, without adding that little afterthought! . Why couldn't she just ask if he was okay like a normal person? Ah well, hopefully it would be something to think about and would take his mind of whatever was troubling him a little.
Jamie had not expected anyone to come up to him, much less an older student and when he was spoken to, it made him jump slightly. Was he in trouble? Why was she talking to him? She looked friendly, she didn't seem threatening, but looks could be rather deceiving. He had seen her around the common room, but had never spoken to her.
"Hi... Um... I didn't know that... Um... There is an average of 30,000 parts in a car?" Okay, he had not been planning on saying that, but the weird fact was one that his dad had read one day while they were working on an old car in the garage. It was their project car and they only worked on it together. At her mention of baldness, he unconsciously touched his hair before smiling sheepishly.
"I guess not," he said as he looked at her. "Um... Are you going to sit with me?" Why would she? Her friends were currently down the table likely making a huge mess of the food and cheering for the Ravenclaw team. On that thought, where was Joe?

Elizabeth took a second to acknowledge Lindsey's question. In truth, she had almost forgotten about her internship. She didn't really think it was necessary to complete it, especially after what her parents had written her to say about it.
"Not yet." she said. She wasn't sure if she could keep putting it off, though. With nothing else to do during the holidays, maybe an internship would be something interesting to do. She ate another tiny bite of her food.

Lindsey nodded over at Elizabeth and scooted over towards the direction she was in, so not to have to speak to loud. She was already a loud Scottish lassie, she didn't need to be any louder. Amara would hate her even more, if that was even a possible thing... Oh well, she smiled at Elizabeth.
"Well, I might try to go again soon, I'd love if ye came with me, Elizabeth," Lindsey said with a genuine smile before she turned to her plate and took a bite. Lindsey wasn't sure if she wanted to return home and since she hadn't seen Tom to verify those plans, she figured she could just stay here. Her sibling was going home, but she had no reason to want to go home this year. She had so much she wanted to do.
Whoops, had he sounded happy about that? He hadn't meant to, but it seemed as though trying to be his usual cheerful self probably wasn't what most people were in the mood for. Most people being Hufflepuff and those who had hoped for a win. Maybe even a game where they didn't get quite so badly hurt.
"Actually, I'm not", he spoke more seriously, being honest while not wanting to be on the wrong ends of Amelia's temper. "Actually, I'd say it was bloody unfair. Were those bludgers jinxed or something?", he asked rhetorically as he continued to pile up his plate.
"You know, I think I will maybe try out as a beater after all. Once I can win the folks over, anyway", he then added. He recalled the letter he had sent and the response he had gotten. His parents didn't seem keen (though he suspected it was more his mother than his father) and had said that they would talk about it over Christmas.
The roaring sounds of laughter, cheer and chatter echoed within the Great Hall as Levi along side a few other students slowly made their way into the Great Hall for dinner. He was rather excited to have dinner as he was starving but did enjoy his little catch up session with both Lindsay and Reena.
It was an interesting atmosphere to hear the match results. It seemed like it was what everyone was speaking about. Levi had to quickly pass by the Library on his way down to return a book and came in just a little late behind Lindsay who seemed to have already started her meal.
Taking a seat nearby, he began munching on his food as he looked over to Lindsay and asked a few questions. " So... Who won? And did I miss anything important? I had to return that book we were reading before. " He added as he took a bite of his food following a sip of water.

Reena hadn‘t even realised just how hungry she was until the smell of food wavered towards her. She couldn’t sit down fast enough, choosing a seat next to Lindsey, and start filling up her plate.
The commotion mainly from Ravenclaw made her guess they had won but she didn’t bother to ask. She wondered briefly whether Jax had watched the match but she was quickly focusing on her food.
Pouring some tea she looked up when Levi asked about the match. She scanned the Slytherin table briefly and finally settled on Doren. Perhaps she had watched the game and could give a more definitive answer?
Despite her hunger, Reena could not help her eyes wander back towards Levi again and again. They had just agreed to go to the ball together after all, as friends of course. So that meant they were friends now, right?

Jaxen entered the Great Hall, his stomach growling in protest at the fact that Lunch had been cancelled due to the days Quidditch match. He had not attended the match, despite his own house going up against Hufflepuff. He was probably the only one in the entirety of Ravenclaw that skipped it.
He had his own reasons. Quidditch had never been of much interest to him and he'd never had much time to follow the sport anyway. He had spent the day first trying on his new dress robes (which he was surprised to find he actually looked pretty good in) and then catching up on some homework.
Making his way across the hall, it was easy to guess who'd been victorious this time around. The Hufflepuff table was rather subdued, whereas his own was bordering on chaotic with a babble of activity. Sitting in his regular spot, he began helping himself to various foods, piling his plate high to make up for the missed meal.

Amara was in pretty good spirits, not just from having the best date to the ball but also having gained a charming little win of 100 Galleons from successfully betting on Ravenclaw to win.
She still needed an answer from that 1st year girl talking about Tryouts, but she was hungry so they'd have to continue it at their house table. Having missed lunch, she was willing to bend her no-pests company during meals rule. Being allowed to sit near her wasn't the same as being invited though, as far as reputation goes.
'Ravenclaw, of course,' Amara answered Levi as she sat down -- having caught his question as she'd arrived at the table.
She glanced over at Elizabeth, then wondered where Lucas was. It was nice to be around her Slytherin classmates though, and she even tolerated some younger years for now. Lindsey was there too, discussing something related to Saint Mungos.
'As for missing anything important.' She smirked at Levi, while grabbing an apple and some nuts for later. 'Rhynhart was knocked out by a Bludger. Highlight of the match, if you ask me.'
Amara focused on her dinner, not too fussed with the dessert rule change of the previous night. She grabbed a cupcake, putting it beside her plate for after. Serving herself roast duck and steamed vegetables, she glanced curiously over to the other end of the Great Hall where Ravenclaw rightfully celebrated their win.
'You're an Ashworth, right?' Amara eyed a 4th year girl, then paused to sip her pumpkin juice. 'I think your brother's in my class. Is he friends with Mathias Sallow, do you know?'
