Nerves. No, that word didn't even start to cover how she felt at the moment. Freya was beyond nervous at the moment. Staying up in the tower was not even an option for her and she knew that she would need to eat if she was going to have enough strength for today's practice. Freya believed in her abilities as a player and she knew she shouldn't worry so much, but she was nervous all the same. She knew it would take a lot to impress her huffy captain.
Walking toward the table, she took a seat and pulled out a piece of parchment she had been carrying with her since the game the other day. Unfolding it, she looked at it and smiled. It was her sketches of some of the Gryffindor and Slytherin players during the first match. It settled her nerves slightly, but she knew she would be competing against these players.
Folding the parchment back up, she stored it back in the inner pocket of her robe and turned her attention to getting some proper nourishment before she started getting her notes ready for morning class. Freya had a lot on the agenda for the day and if she wanted to face it all with no problem, getting some food in her belly seemed like the best place for her to start.
Freya gave the Daily Prophet a read, skimming most of the articles, but took the time to read about the four Hogwarts alums that stood against a society that believed only advanced magic should be shared among those deemed "worthy" by them. She munched on her toast as she read about the incredible women, then polished it off along with a cup of hot morning tea.

"Yeah!" Grace said, encouraged by the words. She reached over and grabbed a schedule to see when Professor McGonagall would not be teaching. She frowned when she realized that it seemed she would be teaching all through the morning and afternoon, though perhaps they would be lucky enough that Transfiguration class would finish early.
"Hmm..." Grace said, "She's so busy today. I guess when we go to the staff room we could just ask whoever shows up?"
Saoirse peered at the schedule along with Grace, noting Professor McGonagall's busy day. She had been planning to go for her swim directly after breakfast, but supposed it could wait until afternoon. Maybe there would even be less harassment by the merpeople and Grindylows if she switched her schedule up a bit. Besides, Saoirse couldn't remember something at Hogwarts interesting her so much before this. Even the spells she had learned so far had been basic and frustratingly low-tech- and that was to someone who had spent much of her life on a fishing boat. Pursuing a bit of history that adults seemed to want to forget was definitely going to be the highlight of the semester. Saoirse nodded to Grace.
"I don't know if any of the other professors will be willing to tell us... but it's worth a try." Saoirse started shoveling scrambled eggs into her mouth as she spoke, eager to fill up before heading out.
Kevin startled when he felt slight tremors around his seating area. He looked up just in time to see the younger girl he spoke to a few times in the past giving him a nod. Kevin smiled and nodded in reply, giving a small wave before he focused back on his food.
Finishing what he considered a main course, Kevin piled up on desert and used this time of slowly making a progress through pudding to look around the Great Hall. It was starting to get full, with most of his classmates making an appearance. Kevin nodded at his house's prefect, giving her a slight smile before looking around again.
Owl post arrived shortly after, though, as usual, Kevin didn't get any personal letters from his family. He wasn't bothered by it, they all wrote only when something of a particular note occurred. Not to mention Kevin's parents after five years, still hadn't managed to figure out the particulars of owling letters.
He did get the Daily Prophet and it seemed it wasn't its usual issue. Kevin frowned at the main story, not recalling any of it in his History of Magic classes. Granted, though, it wasn't ancient history. Kevin supposed he could ask Mardling or someone that was raised in the wizarding world, if they remeber anything about this event. Kevin was mostly upset about the report of, once again, Muggles being killed from a backfired spell. He lived in a state of constant slight anxiety of his parents being caught in crosshairs of a spell like that. They lived in a very Muggle area, but that meant nothing when magical folk could be anywhere at any time.

Taking the permission slip from the professor, Reena wondered if this would be the year to go to Hogsmeade. They were all at Hogwarts now so their grandparents would give their okay to ask. She just was not sure whether her mum would send her a dress robe for the founders‘ ball and a filled out permission slip.
A quick glance at the Daily Prophet caught her attention and after reading the front page she looked at the picture of four students that had died 12 years ago.
All different houses, no prior connection? That was suspicious and Reena could not help but think about what the Hat had said about legacies and the founders and wonder if this was somehow connected. Because if it was, she may have to end her persueing of the founding artefacts.
After folding the daily prophet together and putting it in her bag for later reading she looked across the hall. Still no sign of Jax. She would have loved his input on the Hogsmeade dilemma and his thoughts on this battle. What if their father and uncle had anything to do with it?
She also could not help but notice progessor Hathmore behaving suspiciously once more and she really hoped she had nit opened a can of worms the other day when she started asking about the founding artefacts.
Owls were still handing out the special edition of the Daily Prophet when food disappeared from the tables at the end of breakfast. Chatter of various subjects continued as staff and students either remained or headed out of the hall.
Most who remained where 1st and 6th years, who were comfortable with having an entire day of free time that most weren't in any rush in leave. 3rd years only had the morning free so headed off along with the rest of the departing crowd.
~ Breakfast Ended ~
Class threads are now available. Ravenclaw Quidditch Practice begins when @nyx makes the thread at the pitch. Any players with classes need to post attendance there first. Then Practice will likely occupy most, if not all, of their morning free time.
Kevin could not see neither Mardling nor Seabrook at breakfast so his plans of talking to them weren't realized. He felt a tiny spark of annoyance at that since Kevin liked for things to go according to his organized time schedule. Shrugging, Kevik took a pastry from one of the center plates and stuffed it into his mouth. Just in time as the food seemed to disappear not shortly after. He made sure that he had his parchment for classes before hurrying out of the hall with a faint word goodbye to the nearest Slytherins.
Trix watched as the food disappeared in front of her. Even though she has seen it loads of times now, she still amazed when the food vanishes. Trix started to wonder about what she could do today. Is she unsure, of course, she is but as the saying goes that the day is her own. Trix will probably find something to do as she left the great hall.

Lindsey finished up her breakfast and headed out of the Great Hall. She hadn't seen Tom come into the Great Hall, but the likelihood of them being in class together was good. She had no reason to sit around any longer, so she went off to class. As she moved with the other student, she quickly fixed a braid to keep it neat and tidy, knowing she would be going straight to the greenhouse after class.
Amelia looked up in time to see the professor coming towards them and she stood to accept the permission slip. Looking over it, she rubbed the back of her neck and smiled at the professor.
"Thank you Professor, I'm sorry I'm a little late, I'll send this right after breakfast," she said before she sat back down to finish her meal. Just as she sat down, she saw the owls arrive and she took hold of the nearest prophet before anyone else could take one.
The Sacred Four... She had heard about them, but only from things like this and also the occasional word from others. But it was not as known as other events. She didn't really know much more than what the prophet explained and she wished she did. Looking over at Anjay, she wondered if he knew more.
"Hey, Anjay... Have your parents ever talked about these girls before?" Amelia asked as she stood up and started to gather her things to get ready to leave for class. She would stay long enough to hear him tell her before she left herself for her own class. If he didn't know, they would be heading to History of Magic and she would just ask the Professor.
Jamie didn't really stick around long after breakfast ended. He had made a list of things he needed or wanted to do today, including trying to find more ingredients, write a note home to his parents and maybe even ask if he could get a pet. Grace had a pet and he had thought about getting one before school started, but had pushed it off since he didn't even think he would be happy here.
Things were starting to look up, so he hoped that was a good right. He left the great hall and headed in the direction of the Greenhouse, wanting to go ahead and get that out of the way this morning.

"Yeah! I mean, worst case scenario they tell us not to worry about it...but I guess we could look at the library, then?" Grace shrugged, considering their options. She was glad she had someone to talk ideas through with. She liked it much better than just trying to figure things out by herself, and it meant she had backup!
As the food disappeared, Grace brushed herself off. "Do you wanna go ask now, or later today?" Grace didn't want to interrupt any of Saoirse's plans, but she was excited to learn more about the special edition of the paper, and what had happened.

Elizabeth smiled as the food disappeared. Finally, classes! She was beginning to grow tired of free time. There was so much to do, yes, but she wasn't sure how to do it. Now that there were classes, her studying could have a bit more focus, especially if the teachers gave them homework, as she hoped they would.
It wasn't that Elizabeth flat-out enjoyed the homework, but she loved it when good marks appeared. OWLs were this year, after all, and she wanted to get at least some O's in her classes, even if it seemed that it wouldn't really matter if her parents had their way.
Saoirse managed to grab one last handful of raspberries before the food disappeared from the tables. She tended to eat like a horse, particularly on days where she did her training underwater. She watched the other students begin to file away as she stood up along with Grace. Going to the library seemed vastly less interesting than prodding the adults for information, but it seemed worth the trouble. Saoirse looked over at Grace, surprised that she was being considerate of her time. She'd already made up her mind, however- swimming in the afternoon today instead of the morning. Maybe the ice around the shore would be melted by that point, too.
"Let's go ask someone now!" Saoirse grabbed one of the papers and tucked it under her arm, fully prepared to stick it in a teacher's face if they acted like they'd never heard of the events. "My plans can wait."

As breakfast disappeared, Arthur was disappointed not to have seen Elara so he could worry about Transfiguration to her. Maybe she'd gone straight to class or had a bit of a later start to the morning. He could understand that. In his first years at Hogwarts, he'd overslept quite a few times.
He took one last bite of the pastry that had been in his hand before heading off to Transfiguration, where he would no doubt be making a few mistakes. He didn't get why it came so easy to some of his classmates, but it didn't make a lot of sense to him.
