Winter was certainly on its way, as there was a chill in the air.
With Slytherin and Gryffindor's Quidditch match the day before, then Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff's match tomorrow, the sport remained a popular conversation among all four houses. Those who were tired of it or less Quidditch-inclined instead focused on some returned normalcy of having classes and places to be today - especially younger years, most of who were excited to see they had plenty of free time.
Student schedules were magically assigned to everyone who sat at their house table.
Morning Classes 4th years - Transfiguration 5th years - History of Magic
Ravenclaw: Quidditch practice is this morning. @nyx will make the thread when ready, once breakfast has ended.
~~
Afternoon Classes 5th years - Transfiguration
Hufflepuff: Quidditch practice is this afternoon. Luckett Langford will make the thread when ready, once lunch has ended.
Owl Post will arrive soon with the Daily Prophet. Morning class threads will be available for posting in once breakfast ends, and afternoon ones when lunch ends. If there aren't students in a particular year, that class won't occur - 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th year classes aren't listed on the schedule.
Jamie was still rubbing his eyes as he came into the great hall. He was unsuccessful in stopping a yawn as he sat down at his table, glancing up to see who all had arrived. Grace was not at the Gryffindor table, so he went ahead and grabbed some food for himself and looked at his schedule. It was a free day? Well, maybe he could get some things done for Herbology and Potions?
Grabbing a handful of nuts, he shoved them in his bag and picked up his fork to eat some of the pancakes he had put on his plate. Maybe Joe or Ryan would sit with him?

Lindsey smiled as she entered the Great Hall and looked about for anyone she knew. Granted, she still wanted to apologize to the Gryffindor captain, but it felt like it would never happen with how things were. She didn't want to make a scene, she would prefer private. The last thing she wanted was Amara seeing and breathing down her neck, but her mother had been right yesterday...
One person she didn't see was the Gryffindor Captain, but felt her stomach rumble from hunger, so she headed to her table. She found a place at the end near the entrance of the great hall and began to put food on her plate. Checking her schedule, she smiled at the thought of a free afternoon but knew it was time to get things started on her internship. As she put some food in her mouth, she remembered to grab a apple and some nuts in hopes to continue growing her supply.

Trix had an amazing night sleep the night before and she is ready to see what the new day has in store for her. She made her way to the great hall for the most important meal of the day. She always had a love for food and enjoys eating and trying new dishes. When she got there she made her way to the Hufflepuff table and see what food there is. The food looked amazing and it was hard to pick something to have.
After a minute she went for some toast with butter on and had some scumbled eggs and Bacon on top. Simple but it was very filling indeed.
Amelia had pulled her arm over her head as she came into the Great Hall, her hand holding her elbow as she stretched it. As she looked around the Great Hall, she noticed that of her group, she seemed to be the first one to arrive and so headed towards the Gryffindor table. Sitting down, she smiled and grabbed some eggs and fruit to go on her plate.
'It's going to be a good day,' she reminded herself before she looked at her schedule and let out a sigh. Two classes today? Well, she guess she needed to keep herself busy and besides, she still had time to get some things done, right? Grabbing some nuts and a apple, she pushed those into her bag and continued her task of eating.
Kevin arrived in the Great Hall to see that he was one of the first to come. It was not unusual for him to be late, especially if his wake-up calls failed. Kevn took a note of the Slytherin table and saw no one that he needed to talk to (namely Seabrook and Mardling), so the boy took a seat near the end, as was his usual. That was Kevin had a quick exit strategy in case the crowd became too overwhelming.
He noticed a girl nearby, perhaps a year or two below him with reddish hair and recognized her as one of the Slytheirn Quidditch players. The general feel in the common room yesterday (as far as he noticed) wasn't particularly jolly. Shrugging, Kevin took some nuts and an apple in case he'd had to make a quick exit and became hungry and put them in his pockets.
'Congratulations on the win yesterday,' Kevin said to the girl, then looked away as he started piling food on his plate. He kept his eyes down and if he girl wanted to continue the conversation, she'd have to make him notice somehow.
Kevin's schedule appeared and he saw he had History of Magic after breakfast and then Transfiguration later in the afternoon. He wasn't particularly bothered with those classes, Herbology or Care of Magical Creatures would be more difficult to sit through.
He took a bite out of some toast and poured himself some pumpkin juice as he waited for his possible demise to arrive.

Lindsey looked up as someone sat at the end, an older boy she didn't really know well. She turned her head back to her plate, not really wanting to disturb him and continued to eat her own food. Suddenly, she heard someone speak and looked up at him, hearing the words and allowing them to register before she smiled sheepishly and nodded.
"Thank ye... Tom did a great job," She said to him in her normal highland accent before looking away to continue eating. It was loud enough that most people would have heard, but she just thanked him and went on her day of eating. Looking up, she searched for Tom and the others, wondering where they might be this morning.

Backpack hanging over her right shoulder Reena entered the Great Hall. The first thing she did was glance over towards the Ravenclaw table while heading into the direction of her own house table. Not able to make out Jax, which was fair since she was pretty early, she almost passed by Lindsey when she heard her friend's unmistakable accent talk about Tom and turned her head.
Lindsey appeared to have been talking to Dunne, a fifth year Reena had seen around. Despite the anxiousness she continued to feel since yesterday she mustered a smile and approached the table on the opposite site of her friend.
"Morning", she said. Remembering Dunne was deaf she sat her bag down rather heavily to alert him to her presence, giving him a quick nod before settling down and reaching for some toast and jam.
"Feeling better?", she asked Lindsey before she took a quick look at her schedule. Nothing had changed and Reena was glad to find her afternoon free. Perhaps she could finally get around to find the other ingredients for her deal with Mardling and practice her duelling? Oh- and ask Jax what he had found out, of course.
Anjay was energized and ready to take on the day. He strode into the hall with his usual bout of confidence and self assuredness, adjusting his Prefect badge several times, whatever odd malady plaguing him yesterday now long forgotten. The silliness of Quidditch behind them (at least for a day), he felt rejuvenated and ready to learn.
"Good morning, Ames," Anjay greeted Amelia jovially, not seeing anyone else at the table. He took a kettle, somehow the perfect temperature, and prepared himself a morning cup of chai. He felt his brain kick into an extra gear as the spices from the tea wafted up to his nostrils, filling him with warmth and reminding him of home. Was he due to write a letter to his parents?
"Ready for the day? I am. I can't wait to see what the lesson will cover in this morning's History of Magic lesson," Anjay said, meaning every word. He poured himself a bowl of porridge and peeled a banana, opting for a lighter breakfast than usual. He didn't want to feel sluggish throughout the day after all.

Post by Victoria Vargas on Apr 20, 2021 22:14:50 GMT 10
Victoria had been awake a bit too early for her tastes, but she hadn't been tired enough to fall back asleep. She didn't even have a chance to speak to her roommates last night after getting in later than usual, thanks to Bryce and Stansbury's nonsense. Getting out of bed was a slow process, but finally she was up and heading for the first meal of the day. What would there be to eat? Yesterday's feast had been pretty good, and she expected nothing much less for today.
When Vicky entered the Great Hall, she saw many students already laughing and eating. It was mostly Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, all maybe excited for their team's practices that day. Vicky shuddered at the thought of practice, remembering Slytherin's first. It was a horrific event, one she wanted to erase from her memory. It was a miracle they had won their first game.
She made her way to the Slytherin table and sat down where most of the others weren't. Victoria didn't want to sit with Lindsey Bryce, Reena Ashworth or any of the other fourth years. She grouped them together. They were all the same in her eyes, a bunch of whiny brats that kicked and screamed when told they could do and be better. Victoria glared at them with hatred blazing from her eyes before she turned to serve herself something delicious to eat.

Ruffling up his short, curly hair Joe entered the Great Hall. A quick glance around told him he was early and Toby was not here yet to say 'hello' to. Looking back to see wether Ryan was close by he decided to join Jay for breakfast and save a seat for his best friend.
Everything about Joe was tense and he gave Jay an upward nod as greetings before he sat down at the edge of his seat. He glared at the food in front of him, certain that he would not be able to down a single thing yet knowing he had to. His upcoming practice had been exciting to think about while it was far away but now he was... scared?
Sure, he was dead set on impressing his captain after she had singled him out at lunch the other day. However she had also kicked Gerald off the team eventhough Joe had thought the other boy had done a good job at try outs. So now he was not too confident about how permanent his position on the team was.
All he knew was that he needed to play to his best abilities today. He was glad he did not have class today so he could mentally prepare himself for the practice. He finally poured himself some orange juice and peeled a banana, which he could not even taste, he felt too anxious about the morning to come.
Amelia looked up at the sound of someone joining them and smiled at Anjay as he seemed in a good mood. Amelia wasn't in a particular bad mood, she had slept good, had been rather happy to get in. Even with the looming classes today, she would deal with them in strides. Popping a grape in her mouth, she gave Anjay a wave.
"Morning, Anjay... I think you might be the only one excited about History of Magic, but you know maybe I'll be surprised," she said before putting another grape in her mouth. It was delicious, she had needed this breakfast this morning. Her spirits were up and she looked around the great hall to see where the others were, glancing at the Hufflepuff table to see if anyone of her friends were there as well.
As she turned back to the door, she watched as Vargas came in and she wished she had managed to snag her with that bludger, but it had no happen and she would have to try again for the next game. She didn't look at her long before she returned her eyes to her plate and continued to eat in silence, a small smile forming on her face.
Kieran Bane entered the hall looking like his usual morning zombie self, collapsing at the hufflepuff table and resting his forehead on the cold wood. Damn did he ever hate mornings. What made it even worse was that his first class would be History. Though maybe that would be his saving grace, he could always try to get in a nap while the teacher droned on about stuff from the past. He didn't see how it was all that important he knew what happened back when his grandfather was a lad, that was so long ago.
Kier struggled to lift his head and pulled his plate closer, loading it up with mostly just bacon. He knew they had practice this afternoon so he needed his energy if he were to survive fighting the bludger. He couldn't wait for their first game to finally arrive, cheering on the last game had only made him more excited to get out onto the field. First though, he needed to get through the morning. He grabbed a glass of pumpkin juice and downed it, filling himself up with bacon and a few eggs.

Tiana led the way into the Great Hall, heading instinctively towards the Gryffindor table. She skirted around some first year students, certain they wouldn't have a problem navigating the busy space considering they were so small. Finding an open spot, she pulled her bag off over her head, knocking some hair loose from her top bun and put it down on the ground next to her feet before sliding into the spot at the table. She was still hungry after the first game.
There were plenty of drop scones and breakfast sausages left, including a large pot of tea nearby. Tiana hoped it was Earl Grey as she reached for it and slid it closer to her. She smiled at the others at the table, her eyes lingering longer on Anjay. She found him perplexing and hard to read. Ti had always been under the impression he hated sports, which would include Quidditch and her role as captain, but his words at dinner yesterday were still on her mind.
If Jade had already been there, this is where she would've probably nudged her hard in the arm. Ti's best friend didn't need to be able to read her thoughts to know that she was checking out another boy, even if Ti thought it discreet. She couldn't help that Anjay was attractive, but more than that.. she wanted to know what made him tick. They had been housemates for five years now and Ti felt she didn't know much about him outside his family's big reputation.
“I don't know, Ames. There are a few of us that find History of Magic interesting,” Ti interjected, taking a bite of her scone to try and conceal the crap she was spewing. “All those names, dates and events? I think they make for fascinating conversation,” she said after a sip of her tea, briefly glancing at Anjay. She hated History of Magic, but Anjay didn't need to know that.. not if he enjoyed it. She only hoped nobody would call her out on it.

Arthur had woken up feeling rested and even happy, though he was hesitant to be so cheerful when he remembered, thanks to the schedule, that he had a Transfiguration class coming up. He definitely considered it one of his worse subjects, but after that it seemed he would be free, so it wasn't too bad.
Arthur looked around for Elara, who wasn't there. He wanted to ask her how her evening with Filch was, even though he knew it was probably awful. He thought that the old caretaker was a bit harsh, but since it wasn't technically a detention he hoped it wasn't too bad. He snagged an apple and some nuts for later, just in case, while he pondered going out to collect more potion ingredients.
