"Yeah, they are interesting!", Joe said in response. He tried to wave it off when Ryan said the room with the balls was scary but he knew his friend was speaning the truth. Joe had been very scared when he was first almsot set on fire and then the water had kept flooding in.
He leaned forward to listen to his best friend when he told him about his missions, happy somedetails were entrusted to him and that it appeared that his Big Foot idea had stuck with Ryan for a bit. "That's a great idea. And it's a brave idea too!", Joe wanted to praise Ryan because he knew his friend was anxious about those kind of things. So it was already brave to try something like that on his own. Sounded like they had both been brave this afternoon.
Joe was so focused on his friend, he almost missed his Captain's request for pasta but remembering how she had yelled at him at breakfast he scrambled to get the bowl for her, not wanting her to raise her voice again. "Aye aye, Captain", he said with a sheepish smile as he passed her the pasta. His gaze briefly fell onto her hand that was holding the boy's hand and he could feel his face blush a little at that. So yelling was the way to get a girlfriend? Joe would rather never have one then.
"I'd love to explore with you and Toby", Joe said. He was relieved Ryan distracted him from the quidditch Captain and her boyfriend. "Yeah. I got permission to work in the Student Greenhouse from professor Sprout too today.", he said with a shrug. He was not too sure if Ryan had a passion for Herbology like him.
He grabbed some chips to eat and listened up when Ryan asked to hang out tonight to make banners for Toby. Joe cast a quick glance at the quidditch Captain again, tensing for amoment but relaxing when Ryan said they were not for Gryffindor but rather just for Toby. Surely no one could say anything against supporting his best friend?
"Sounds great! I'm sure Toby is very excited about his game tomorrow." Now that he was thinking about it, making banners for his friend was the best idea he had ever heard and he chewed his chips happily in anticipation of tonight. Joe looked around, hoping Toby was not nearby to overhear, surely it would make for a good surprise?

When Tom joined her at dinner, she moved her stuff from the seat and smiled at him. His own smile made her blush slightly and she went back to eating her dinner for a moment. After he had settled into eating, she looked around and did notice that the Slytherin Table was a slow fill up this evening, but she shrugged.
"I dinna kin," She said before she wiped her mouth with a napkin. "Is Jinks settled in? Lindsey knew he likely didn't want to leave the cat, but they had dinner and then the Frivolity. To be honest, she might have been a little excited about it.
Lindsey had seen Sebastian, Victoria and Amara come in, but she didn't make any comments towards them. When Reena joined them, she gave her a quick smile before she went to finish off her own goblet. At Reena's question, she smiled and nodded.
"Aye, I can do that... We better get going," She said as she grabbed her bag and turned to Tom. "See ya at the Frivolity?" Lindsey asked with a smile before she stood and looked at Reena so they could leave out together.
Amelia looked over at Anjay as he came in and felt a little stab when he sat away from them. What was going on with everyone? Jacob, Anjay and Lucky were all mad? What the hell was the world coming to? Amelia had also been mad, but it had been over since this morning and she was rather done with it. As he spoke again about rolling around in the grass, she felt that there was a little more to it than that, but let out a sigh.
"Alright... Fine... I guess everyone can have an off day," She said, finishing off her Goblet and grabbing a few extra rolls to snack on in the common room. She wasn't that hungry anymore. Stuffing them in her bag, she looked at Jacob. "But whatever it was that happened to you... Just remember, you would likely be acting the same way wanting to know and we would trust you and tell you what happened in the end." She kept her eyes on him before she stood up and left.
Hanna rushed into the great hall, practically ignoring everyone as she made her way over to the Slytherin table. She looked a mess, still in the same clothes she had fought the cursed book in.
She quickly grabbed an apple and a couple of other things from the table before heading back the way she came. Hanna didn't have time for a full meal if she wanted to shower and get ready before tonight's events.

Reena smiled when Lindsey agreed to help her with her hair. It surely would do her good tospend some time with her friend after the day she had had to calm a little before the event. Not that she nkew exactly what was coming for them but nobody seemed to knwo and the older students ever so smugly kept it secret from them.
Finishing her soup Reena got up herself and grabbed a piece of bread for the way. She then got her bag and put it over her shoulder. After saying a quick "See ya" to Tom she beckoned Lindsey to lead the way so they could goto their dorm together.
Sinead headed into the hall, keeping well out of the way as she headed over to the Slytherin table. She was still annoyed at herself for performing poorly in quidditch practise. She slid into a seat next to her older sister who greeted her and after a very quick chat, the brunette ate a rather hurried meal. Once she had finished, she got up from the table and hurried off to the Slytherin common room.

"There have been students out of bed. More than usual, it would seem." Elizabeth answered, taking a small polite bite of food afterwards. Besides that, perhaps Filch wanted to make sure none of the leaving students stopped by the trophy room on the way to get changed or get to the Frivolity.
She glanced at the leaving fourth years before glancing in the same direction that Amara was. Sallow was from an older wizarding family, so she was familiar with the name if not the face. It was a bit abstract to her, so she shrugged. "I will make a note of that."
She wondered which boys should stay on her list. She had not considered that they would want to go out with other girls before. What if there was someone her parents wanted her to marry, but the boy preferred another girl, like Amara, or even if he would prefer a boy like Shores? This was much more complicated than she thought it would be.

Arthur glanced around as other fourth years began to leave. He hoped the nuts that he had grabbed would be enough of a snack, and decided he would get all clean. He left, following the example of the other fourth years. He was thankful he didn't have hair that needed to be tied back, even though he did have to spend some time keeping it the way he liked it.
He was worried about not needing his robes, though. Arthur thought back to how, in their herbology lesson, it was too hot to wear them. He cringed. Hopefully he would make it through all right.
Food vanished from the tables. Delicious desserts appeared in its place, tempting various students into lingering whereas others were too tired to bother - especially after a busy day of practice for Slytherins and Gryffindors. Most of the staff had already left the hall, though lingering 4th years rushed to head off to the ballroom at the urging of older students.
If ever there was a time when he felt as though he had blundered into a volatile situation, then this was it. Xcalyn was definately angry about something too, probably the same something that had gotten Jake and the Hufflepuff guy all rattled.
Amelia tried to find out just what had happened, but to no avail. No one was talking, and although his curiosity about the whole situation was piqued, pushing the situation was going to cause more problems than it would solve.
Still, it seemed Amelia was quite the diplomat, and he was rather impressed by her response to the situation. Not that any of it was really any of his business, so he turned his attention back to Zach, who offered a rather non specific answer to his question.
"So you threw balls, blocked goals and flew broomsticks? Slytherin won't know what hit em!", he responded in what was intended to be a light hearted, humourous form of sarcasm. With everyone else far too serious for his liking, it would hopefully add a little contrast to those who didn't want to be involved in all that.
Finishing his meal, Rylan pondered staying for dessert, but some of the older students were keen to urge him onward to get ready for this Frivolity thing. Especially after all four heads of house made their exit, followed by Filch and Mrs Norris.
"Well, guess it's about time for me to go and be frivolous or whatever is going down!, he announced. standing up and giving himself a little stretch. He had already showered, so it wouldn't take him too much longer to get himself something resembling presentable.
"See you guys around", he bade those who were listening farewell, as made his way out of the Great Hall. Seeing as dessert had appeared just as he was leaving, he couldn't resist grabbing a doughnut to snack on as he exited.
Jamie wasn't really paying attention to anyone at dinner and once it disappeared, he saw dessert appear. Looking at everything, he decided to grabbed a few different things and headed to the Ravenclaw Tower. He was just tired, likely from all the ingredient hunting today and going into the Lake. Jamie was joined by some older students who were off to get to the event in the ballroom that he had never even seen, but he wasn't paying attention to them.
Rubes reached for a bowl of ice-cream. She wasn't yet ready to head to the common room and settle down for the night. There was still some fun to be had.
Gazing around, Rubes wondered why all the fourth years seemed to be in such a hurry. She supposed that they had somewhere important to go, something that didn't involve the rest of the school. Maybe it was some kind of special event. She continued eating her ice-cream, intending to go and find something fun to do when she was finished.
"Hey, Freya." His face brightened when she arrived. It was nice to have a familiar face sit with him for dinner. "My orientation went well. McGonagall had a small tour planned for us in the Prefect Room. It was a total sight for sore eyes -- not my style of decor, but was very lavish." He shrugged, spooning some more soup. "Still, I can see it being the place to wind down after a long night of patrolling. A night like tonight, I wager."
The fourth years in the hall seemed extra chatty tonight with Founder's Frivolity on the docket. It was an event that would likely draw mischief and trouble from some students, and Kaspian was mentally preparing himself to be the one to put an end to whatever would happen tonight. To think that nothing would happen would be dense. There was also Filch's warning about the Trophy Room. Kaspian was determined to have his first night alongside Xcalyn be a success.
"Are you ready for your tryout?" He watched Freya ladle some soup into her bowl. He must've given her the idea, and that brought a smile to his mouth. It was a good night for soup. It felt chilly enough that even a small bowl would warm someone right up. "That's still tonight, right?" He took a generous drink from his cup. "You'll do brilliantly, I think. Nyx seemed to take a liking to your company this morning too, which can only help."
Kaspian nodded politely at the first years when they shyly joined the table. Ryan Barrow and Jonathan King were their names. Kettles already had their faces memorized at this point. He knew the first from the common room but the second from Quidditch tryouts. For a moment he considered engaging in conversation with the boys, but Nyx and Mathias' arrival took his attention. Kaspian smiled at the pair and shuffled his setting to make some room for them.
"Well and yourself?" Kaspian glanced at Nyx when he asked the question, but he already knew her answer. She spent the afternoon with her boyfriend and couldn't imagine her having had a bad day. It felt polite to ask her in any case. "We were just having a chat about Freya's tryout. I was telling her how I think she'll be brilliant on a broomstick."
Dinner disappeared after the conversation went on, with dessert appearing in its stead. Kaspian wasn't in the mood for sweets and quietly stood to excuse himself. He didn't want to endure a sugar crash in the middle of his prefect duties and thought toffee pudding and banana pie would put him over the edge. It was going to be a big night for him and Anjay Xclayn, with it being their first night in the role, and he wanted it to go smoothly -- as smooth as possible.

Dessert vanished from the tables, leaving everything vacant and clean. It was now curfew. Remaining students began to leave the hall, as they were expected to be safely inside their house areas or headed there now - with the exception of those attending the Founder's Frivolity or Ravenclaw's private tryout. Prefects report for duty.

Ryan's mood lifted as he chatted with Joe, beaming at his best friend's praise. It was strange to think that just a few months ago he was alone without friends or any hope of having them. So much had changed, but it seemed like he was finally starting to get used to it and life at Hogwarts. Today had basically proven it.
'Yeah, we should totally go exploring sometime.' Ryan nodded, scooping his ice cream with eager delight. Exploring somewhere safe, he hoped, not like the Forbidden Forest again. It was too soon to revisit that nightmare.
He nodded at the comment about the Greenhouse, intrigued but more focused on his dessert. Ryan pouted when the yummy treats vanished from the table and his bowl, sighing as it was probably a good thing as he'd be nearing another stomach ache at that pace.
'We should get started on the banner then.' Ryan stood. 'I don't wanna be up all night doing it, but it has to be awesome okay? It's for Toby. He's excited, but probably nervous too. We gotta show him support. C',mon, let's go.' He reached to tug Joe's sleeve, then hurried from the Great Hall and towards the Ravenclaw Tower.
