“I can try and arrange a try-out for you, Marsh,” the captain smiled, happy to hear. “You won't be able to participate in the match tomorrow.. but I do hope to see you in the stands supporting us. Once you purchase a broomstick and I see you're serious, I'll get something set up with Professor McGonagall,” she stated with an affirmative nod.
Tiana moved onto sweets and helped herself to a cookie when Jacob arrived. She watched him take a seat at the table, her scrutinizing gaze intense and expressive. She knew something was going on with him.. even if he said nothing was out of the ordinary. What was the excuse he made at breakfast? Something about fireworks? Ti had rolled her eyes at the excuse.
“Hello to you too, Jake,” Ti said with an offended air. She took a bite of her cookie, her eyes narrowed at her friend. “How's your arm?” she asked with concern, but her tone serious. Tiana wasn't expecting him to come out with the truth, but kept her judgmental gaze on him anyway. She wished Amelia has been there to help figure out what was going on with him. Where was she anyway? The last time she saw her, she was angrily storming from breakfast.
The food cleared and signaled the end of lunch. Tiana quickly stood from the table and grabbed her things, shoving her plans and Quidditch equipment under her arm. As much as Ti wanted to figure out what was going on with her friend, she had to get to the pitch to start Gryffindor's practice. Jacob would have to wait for another time.. and Tiana planned to get answers. She waved at everyone and gave Jake one final lingering look of suspicion before exiting the hall.
Jamie hadn't really said anything at Lunch and he had just finished eating and gathered his things to head to Charms Class. It would be interesting to see the newest charm to learn and he was going to do his best, that was what he needed to do.
Jamie didn't hang around when the food disappeared, he headed off to class and was gone before anyone could say anything to him.

Toby was glad that Grace was on the Quidditch team, it meant he had someone his own age that he was probably a little more familiar with than the older players. He was almost offended though, when she told him he'd better 'learn to catch the snitch quickly', as if he didn't already know how to do that? She doubted his skills?
"Slytherin are all talk" he attempted to reassure her, from what he'd heard... Their captain was a bully and he didn't have time for anyone who got their way by bullying others. "You don't need to worry about them" besides, if they tried playing dirty then they'd just have to give them a taste of that sweet revenge he was so partial to.
When the food disappeared from the tables, Toby actually let out a sound of disappointment- perhaps having hoped he could've taken some more sandwiches for the road. There wasn't much time to linger on missed opportunities though, because it was almost time for Quidditch... If he survived his stupid Charms class first.
Grace left the table, probably on her way to class and Toby realised he'd better join her before he earned himself a detention for being late. Didn't teachers know that he didn't need to pass charms? He was going to be the best Quiddy player in the world one day, he didn't need an O or even an A on his OWLs to make that happen.
Grabbing his bag, he hastened out of the hall- praying that class would go by quickly so he could focus his energy on something that actually mattered.

Matt focused on eating, not trusting himself to answer Jax or Kaspian.
He frowned as he reached for another piece of cheese only to notice lunch had ended, so his hand grabbed empty air. Well, that was just rude. He wasn't finished that. Cheese was amazing and his family always tried to limit how much he indulged in, especially since they made a lot of their own cheese at home so he had easy access. Or did, until his father put that annoying spell in place.
'We did,' he made an effort to answer Nyx at least since most of her conversation was directed to him or about him. And her progress, of course. 'Jax-en and I hung out in the Private Courtyard. It was fun.'
He reached for more cheese. Oh yeah. Damn it.
'The Owlery?' He glanced at Nyx, then shrugged. 'Sure. Why not?' He got a giddy grin on his face at the reminder they'd be spending the afternoon together. And in private - he shot Kaspian a neutral look though secretly hoped he wasn't about to intrude on their plans again.
Kaspian got to spend the morning with Nyx, so he could just buggar off now. He sighed. Unless Nyx wanted Kaspian to tag along, he supposed. He hoped not. Her words implied not, which was promising.
The Owlery didn't sound very romantic though. Sure, the views were good but like... wasn't that place just a tower of birds and their crap? He shuddered at the thought, having never rally visited it before. Well, he must have, but Matt was pretty good at finding an owl when he needed one that it was rare he had to venture there. He probably hadn't been there for a while, at least.
His cheeks felt red, and he stared at Nyx in awe, when she made it clear that hanging out with him came first - even above harvesting her plants for whatever uses those had. He couldn't hide his grin at that.
'Let's go.' Matt practically shot out of his seat. 'I'll see you guys later,' he added to Jax and Kaspian with a slightly pointed tone so it couldn't be confused for an invite to come along. He glanced at Nyx, and bowed in an "after you" sort of way.

"Quidditch practice, eh?" Rubes nodded in Arthur's direction, thinking back to her first time on a broom. She couldn't remember how it had ended and decided it was probably best not to try out for the house quidditch team till she had more of an understanding of how to use a broom safely.
Lunch concluded, she picked up her bag and left the Great Hall, hoping that Charms class would again teach her something useful. The more spells she had knowledge of, the better. Whether or not they'd be effective in perilous situations depended on how easily they were mastered.

To say Reena felt disappointed when Jax said he thought it was not a good idea to write their grandparents would be accurate. She felt a bit disheartened by her brother's opinion, did he not want to know more? She had thought about it and since she knew Jax would refuse to ask their mother about it in fear of upsetting her or plunging her into a hole of deep, dark despair (or whatever), she had expected him to be a little more ready to try and ask their grandparents and with that sparing mummy's feelings.
But he agreed to meet her and she smiled at him relieved, suddenly feeling bad for thinking such awful thoughts. Reena felt like she understood their mother a little better now after seeing howhappy they had all looked in that photograph and she did not actually want to cause her any pain. She was just generally frustrated with everything and this more often than not lead to her antagonizing their mum.
The food disappeared from the tables and Reena groaned inwardly as she knew now she had to go to Herbology class, her least favourite subject. Plants just really were not her forté and magical plants had a bad habit of being nasty and difficult to deal with.
"See ya", she said as she started walking way more slowly than she had walked to Charms class this morning. She just hoped Jax would come around on that letter during the afternoon.
"That'd be cool thanks" Rylan spoke with an affirmative nod as Tiana offered to arrange a try out. "I'd definitely consider it, next time there are try outs, anyway.", he added. There was no harm in having a go right? What was the worst that could happen? Actually, it was probably best not to go there, but where was the fun with no risk, right?
First though, he would need a broomstick, but then he was needing to do some shopping anyway. He'd noticed that the beast reserve needed supplies, and he wouldn't mind helping out a little himself. For now though, he broke out into a grin as the older girl shared her hopes at seeing him.
"Oh don't you worry, haven't missed a match since first year, and I'm sure not going to miss tomorrows! I'll be rooting for you all!", he assured her, as well as the other team mates sat around the pair. Now that he'd said that, what were the chances that he could somehow earn himself a detention in Herbology?
Speaking of which, he really should be thinking of getting going, rather than being late for two lessons in a row. Seeing as lunch was no effectively open, he stepped carefully from the Gryffindor bench and made sure to say his goodbyes.
"Well, the greenhouses of Herbology are calling, so adieu for now and see you all at tea!", he bade them farewell with a little wave before making his way to the exit.
