Elizabeth quickly stood up. She would not be late for this afternoon's plans, though she did take note that Professor Rickard seemed to be in a bit of a hurry--for reasons she didn't know. Perhaps being a headmaster was more difficult than it looked. Either way, Elizabeth left in order to meet up with her fellow tea attendees.
She gave herself one last glance, making sure her clothes were still as perfect as they had been when she had left the Slytherin common room. With a deep sigh, she headed out. She had this. She knew what to do. It was only tea, and she had been doing tea since she was little.

As lunch finished, Grace knew that she had to check on her seed. The fertiliser potion she had poured on it might have meant that it was done growing, and if it was done growing, well, she knew what she had to do next. She hadn't seen Gerald, so she decided just to head out immediately. They could talk at dinner. She left in a hurry.

Lunch disappeared and she grumbled as she chewed the last of her food in her mouth. Why was lunch so short? Still holding a piece of bread, she took it with her as she stood up, looking over at Tom.
"I'll find ye later, Tom... Bye!" A blush rose to her cheek as she lingered a little more than needed, but quickly moved out of the Great Hall.
Why did she have to feel so awkward with Tom? She was really enjoying time with him, but first moments and good-byes seemed to make her heart thump a little harder in her chest.
Tom saw that the lunch hour was ending and threw an apple into his pocket as he prepared to leave. "I'm going to go by Hagrid's and check on a cat I found yesterday afternoon. Poor little guy was alone in the woods and I took him to see if Hagrid couldn't nurse him back to health." It had felt like a lifetime ago even though it had really only been a few hours.
"After that I'll probably go collect some more ingredients." With that he gathered his things and stood up. "Have fun meeting the Minister!" Tom was excited to hear all about her time at the special event. He was looking forward to hearing all about it when they got back and then could spend some more time together.
"It was nothing I couldn't handle," she replied not so modestly, a flirtatious smile pulling at her plush, pink lips. "I had found an injured Braxorn near the Forest Path," Nyx began to recount. "It was leashed up for some reason, and when I went to tend to its wounds, I was bombarded by the Daymoth," she finished, adding a little shrug of her shoulders. She still didn't understand that troubling situation or who would've done such a thing to an innocent creature. However, she hadn't forgotten that Fairburn and Rivera seemed to have had an idea.
"Needless to say, I was a little burned out—mentally and physically," Nordstrom added with a sigh, hoping that Mathias understood why she was absent the last day. She hadn't gone out of her way to keep him in the dark, it was simply just a matter of her needing rest. Nyx didn't want him to worry or feel anything other than happy that they were able to speak again, because that was how she was feeling. She helped herself to another one of her strawberries, her lower lip reddening from their succulent nectar. There was nothing quite like fresh fruit.
"I have to pay a visit to Professor Snape," she muttered with distaste. She didn't want to, but it had to be done. She needed to complete her Potion's Kit. "Jade wants to chat, too. But, I was thinking.. maybe tonight you and I can reconvene in the common room?" she asked, her cornflower blue eyes swelling with an eagerness. That seemed to be where the pair had their best chats, where their conversations burst with an unfamiliar intimacy. Nyx had never experienced such a feeling before, but enjoyed it—and sincerely hoped Mathias did too.
Then, the food suddenly disappeared into thin air, signaling the end of their afternoon meal. Nyx stood without a moment's notice, affectionately brushing a gloved hand down Mathias' back. "I'll see you later," she spoke softly, a wistful look in her eye. Nyx didn't want to leave him, but knew they would reunite later in the evening. She shifted into the aisle and made her way through the exiting crowd, her cape-like Quidditch uniform rippling in blue hues behind her. Nyx was on her way to change her clothing, then, she was heading to the dungeons.

As lunch drew to an end, Jax quickly stowed his sketchpad back into the relative safety of his backpack and made a mental note to finish up what he'd been working on when he was back in his dorm that afternoon. His main focus now that the meal was over was on making it to the gates on time- the last thing he wanted was to arrive late, or miss the group all together.
He wasn't usually the type to worry about popularity or how his peers viewed him (much), but there was also the unavoidable concern that his fellow fifth years would judge him harshly if he wasn't punctual. Almost tripping over his bag as he failed to sling it up over his shoulder in time before he started to move his legs, he hurried from the hall- all the while trying to flatten his hair and make himself look more presentable.
Amelia sighed as the food disappeared, but shrugged as she stood up and grabbed her things. Well, at least she had things to do this afternoon. Looking around, he saw Jade and a few others, but headed out of the Great Hall and towards the greenhouses. She did need to check on her plants from the day before, as they were likely to be ready to harvest and she needed to get more planted if she could.
Maybe she should write her mother about some seeds from their garden at home? Buying more seeds would be difficult, though she might have enough to make an order or something.

Too distracted with his own sulking, Mathias was oblivious to any flirting from Nyx - though he was visibly relieved she was okay, and concerned when she told him about the injured Braxorn. He smiled at her, thinking how amazing she was and that he shouldn't have been so worried. Of course Nyx handled things and took care of the poor creature. She even took on Daymoth. He was impressed.
And then she was gone. Mathias sighed, watching her leave the Great Hall. He glanced around the table, despite lunch having ended already, and considered how he was going to spend his afternoon.
Something had changed lately, in regards to Nyx. Not really in a good or bad way, but the treasured nights in the common room... they were special and he always looked forward to them, but a part of Mathias wanted more. He'd missed her terribly the past day, and it made him realise how much he enjoyed being in her company - hearing about her day, talking about various things other people didn't really appreciate, and just making her smile.
But she'd left as if perfectly content for things to stay the way they were. Mathias would have to try to accept that, even if it discouraged him. He got up and gathered his things, deciding to go play some Gobstones or something to get his mind off things. Maybe he'll take a walk down by the lake after?
