Professor Snape rose from his seat nearby, and went to inspect the cauldron. He was intrigued by the liquid, though carefully pondered Arthur's question.
'Leave it,' he decided. 'I shall deal with it. I daresay your task here is complete, Mr Hocking. Let us hope these cauldrons have impressed upon you the seriousness of your mistakes. If such ineptitude should ever occur again in my classroom, you may not be so fortunate.'
He considered the cauldron once more, then nodded. 'You may go,' Snape said, making a dismissive motion.

Arthur was a little surprised that he was allowed to go, but he nodded, taking off the gloves and leaving them on the counter beside the third cauldron. "Thank you, professor. Good night." he said, starting to head to his common room. He would definitely be writing down everything that had happened that night. Detention was a lot more interesting than he remembered, but his hands still hurt.
