Amelia looked between Anjay and Jade, listened quietly to anything the two had to say before she noticed that the dessert was gone. Well, that is what she got for not paying much attention to anything else around her. Letting out a sigh, she grabbed whatever she brought and stood as Jade made a comment about going to the common room.
"Sounds good to me." She said before she headed out. Looking around, she didn't see her siblings anywhere and frown a little at the thought that one in particular might be causing mischief. Maybe the crowd of students just did well to hide him? Yes, that is what she was going with at the moment.
Anjay was about to reach for a bowl of pudding when the desserts instantly vanished from the table. He frowned slightly, and then decided to consider it an omen of good luck instead. No need to expand his waistline by filling up on decadent treats.
No sooner had the thought crossed his mind did Jade suggest retiring to the Common Room for marshmallows. His previous conviction immediately abandoned, Anjay offered up a "Good idea! Let's go," to the girls and stood up from his place at the table.
As they made their way out of the Great Hall, Anjay pondered Jade's question more deeply. What were the chances this Auror had gone bad and broken his oaths? Anjay wanted to believe that all Aurors were noble and moral people- it was an image of the profession he had cultivated his entire life- but of course he was old enough now to understand that was a pipe dream.
He knew the subject wouldn't easily go away when they all got back to the Common Room, and truth be told, Anjay was excited to discuss it further.

In the middle of eating, Toby hadn't noticed Ryan entering the hall and he didn't notice his friend approach the Gryffindor table- but hearing him speak behind him had the boy's face breaking into a grin. He wished that Joe and Ryan could join him at the Gryffindor table, but he didn't think his housemates would appreciate the company of the Ravenclaw firsties.
"Hey!" he greeted Ryan, glancing around quickly as if expecting to see Joe hovering at his shoulder... But it seemed that Ryan had come alone to speak with him. Listening to Ryan speak- somewhat nervously, Toby was quick to catch on to what the implication behind his words were. "Yes, I'll definitely see you there!" he said, a bit too enthusiastically for someone whose only goal was to discuss which ingredients they needed to hunt down next. Watching Ryan leave, Toby settled back to eating his dinner, only sparingly listening to conversation that was going on around him- his mind was full of what adventures they might stumble upon on their trip to the forest that night.
Soon dinner was more or less over, being replaced with dessert and Toby stuck around only long enough to gulp down some chocolate pudding (you didn't expect him to skip dessert, did you?) and then he was grabbing his bag and hurrying from the hall in search of his friends.
Reading the new letter, he nodded. This was much better, and with Grace writing it, it didn't seem like an interrogation.
"Yeah, I think Rook can take it" He nodded again. Hopefully, the Owl didn't destroy the letter, Gerald wasn't sure if they needed training or not.
Taking the letter, he reread it again, double-checking its contents, before folding it in half. "I have some envelopes in my Bedroom, I think I can put it in one of those."
Nodding again one final time, he waited a minute before leaving the Hall for his Dorm.
