'No,' Avery answered Lindsey, picking at the last of her cereal. 'I'm not allowed. Not that I want to play, anyway.' She shrugged. She sighed, pushing her bowl away. Breakfast soon ended and she had to start preparing for her morning class. Potions wasn't so bad, but she'd rather not have to go to class at all today.
'I'll see you in class,' she muttered to Lindsey. 'Good luck with try-outs later,' she added to Hanna. Avery then rose from her seat and made her way out of the Great Hall, weaving carefully to avoid any other students bumping into her.

'Ronan.' Jacob grinned, dramatic mood fading. 'My friend. I've not been completely abandoned. Awesome.' He finished his breakfast, feeling full yet still sulking when the food vanished at the end of the meal.
'Yeah, just us.' He rolled his eyes. 'I think I saw Tiana and Jade headed to the Ravenclaw table, but I doubt that since no way would Tiana near near Nyx Nordstrom - right? Not sure where everyone else disappeared to though.' Jacob shrugged, then checked his schedule over again.
With a groan, he left his seat and stuffed the timetable into his pants pocket. 'Class. Ugh.' He gave Ronan a "please pity me" look. 'You don't take Care of Magical Creatures, right? I must be crazy, choosing more classes when it's optional. Oh well, maybe it'll be something fun? I'll see you later, yeah? Don't have too much fun without me, while I'm busy suffering in class.' He gave Ronan a cheeky grin, then hurried out of the Great Hall.
Killed by Devin Kudosen by act of the Killing Curse. June #24, RPG year 1 -- he was a 5th year Gryffindor. Jacob died to save his best friend, Luckett Langford.

'Quidditch!' He repeated loudly, startled by the sudden man-handling of his shoulders. Or was it woman-handling? Let's not be sexist. It was man-handling. Lucky turned to face Sophia, his face beaming with joy. It was an exciting time for anyone who loved the sport. In a few days, matches would be starting and the team ranks would start to be filled. He reached for a couple pieces of toast while she spoke, beginning to load some scrambled eggs onto each piece.
'There's no way you wouldn't be on the team, mate.' How could she think otherwise? If Lucky hadn't been captain, Sophia Rhynhart was the only other option. Nobody knew strategy or plays as well as she did. Lucky wasn't bad with them, but he was more of a skilled, brute force than anything else. This is why he needed Sophia. 'It sounds brilliant, doesn't it? I can see Seabrook's face now.' Lucky snickered, smashing his toast together to make a sandwich.
He munched away on it, taking the time to browse the Daily Prophet that landed in front of them. He motioned at some of the articles, trying to get Sophia's attention. What was this news about the Auror? Was it another good guy gone bad? That seemed to happen a lot these days. If there was one thing everyone could count on, it was Luckett Langford remaining a decent human being. Well, for the most part. His intentions were normally, mostly good.
Lucky's eyes darted up the second Kat Maples showed up. He grinned at her. She was a looker, wasn't she? Kat had an exotic beauty to her, which most guys would easily fall for. But Luckett Langford didn't fall for anyone -- they fell for him. Well, that's how it usually worked. Lucky exchanged a look with Sophia, who caught the Slytherin's misinformation. He couldn't help but chuckle, but became confused. 'Uh.' He stammered in response, watching as Sophia jetted.
Why did she end up leaving breakfast so suddenly? He shrugged it off. Maybe she was late for something. He turned back to Kat, giving her his full attention. 'I'll meet you over there in a few minutes.' She was already gone, leaving Lucky to finish his sandwich. He wanted to talk more strategy with Sophia, but she apparently had other things to take care of. Maybe some other time. He took his last bite when the food disappeared from the tables. Time to go.
He strolled over toward the dining hall entry, spotting the Slytherin standing nearby. 'You wanted to see me?' Lucky grinned, after tacking on another word. 'Alone.' He wondered what this was about. Maybe she was going rogue and would leak all of Amara Seabrook's plans as captain. That was a stretch, but a hopeful reasoning. Maybe it wasn't even anything like that, maybe she just wanted to spend free time with Lucky. Who wouldn't? He was the greatest.
Kat wasn't sure why Rhynhart acted so bothered. She was only walked up to them and asked to speak with Lucky. Kat speculated if she secretly had feelings for Lucky too. As she stood there in the oversized doorway of the great hall Kat's brow furrowed. She had a lot on her mind. Apparently Nyx had a first cousin in Gryffindor, what was that all about? She was sure they'd talk about more later. Perhaps Kat could even glean some information about how her relationship was going with Mathias. Kat lived for those juicy tidbits.
She had one hand on her hip when she noticed Lucky approaching her, and she immediately tried to make herself look good. Was he flirting back with her? Of course he was! She giggled when he said 'Alone.' but Kat had insinuated it right? Kat looked around to see if Nyx was on her way too, but didn't see her. It was okay Kat could fill her in on her plan later when they talked about boys on their way to Hagrid's. "Yes, I wanted your help with something." Kat spoke in a low tone so others around them couldn't hear. She even leaned in closer to Lucky. "You might have heard about how Gryffindor pranked Slytherin at the beginning of the school year? Well it's payback time. I've heard you're good with pranks. Me? Not so much, that's why I wanted to talk to you." She said it with a wink and wanted to add on 'Also you're funny and hot, kiss me!' but she restrained herself. "Plus I thought that if we pranked them at lunch It could distract them from focusing on tryouts. That would put their quidditch season of to a rocky start." Kat tried to explain her logic, hoping Lucky wouldn't find anything wrong with it. Though his input was still important to her.
She told him of her plan to use either the dungbomb or firework, she wasn't sure which one would shake them up the most before quidditch. That was one of the reasons she wanted his help, the other was to plant the goods. "If I walk up to the Gryffindor Table in green robes everyone will know something was up, whereas you seem to be ok friends with Tiana. I don't think they'd expect you. Then I'll set off the prank." If Lucky knew anything about girls he would be able to hear the twinge of jealousy in her voice. Kat thought about Sophia for a moment and decided to take a leap of faith. "If you think your friend can be trusted she could go with you and be your cover, maybe she can distract Tiana with quidditch talk when you plant the device." Kat let everything she said sink in for a moment. "Well what do you say? Are you in or are you out?" She gave him another wink, before adding "Maybe afterwards I could give you that massage for a job well done?
She waited for his answer as she got ready for class there in the doorway. She loved care of magical creatures. When he answered she made her way to class, making sure to walk slow enough so Lucky could walk with her. Or so he could at least check her out from behind, flaunt it if you got it right?

Lindsey had managed to put a few rolls in her pockets for class and as the food disappeared, she stood up and chuckled at Hanna as she spoke to her Hufflepuff friend. She looked at Avery as she spoke about not being able to and wasn't able to ask what she meant before she left. Why not? Lindsey would have to ask. This was her friend and she was also very curious.
It seemed that Hanna and the hufflepuff knew each other pretty well, so Lindsey waved to them both and headed towards the back of the great all. Giving a wave to Katherine as she passed by, she quickly headed down the stairs that lead to the dungeon and was gone into the dim, dark halls below.
Lindsey honestly could not wait to be outside, but this needed to be done first. She needed to finish this class and she also needed to pay as much attention as possible so that she could get a good grade in class. She was already doing well in her others classes, she couldn't allow her other classes to slip because her mind was not one what it needed to be on.

Elara rolled her eyes at Hanna's cocky comeback. If the Slytherin wasn't her best friend, she might imply that the Hufflepuff captain had standards and that Hanna underestimated him- but as it happened, she was her best friend and she wasn't in the habit of speaking to her friends in such a way (...Unless they hit first).
Watching as Avery left the table, Elara frowned- obviously she had yet to earn even acknowledgement from the other girl. "I'll see you in class" she muttered to Hanna as her friend got up and left as well- presumably for class, but she could never really tell with Hanna. Shortly after, she got to her feet and left for class herself, wishing she'd been fast enough to grab an apple for the road.
Tiana needed to keep her cool. Nyx was already trying to stir the pot! If she were to react in the way that Nyx wanted, she could upset Jade and that was the last thing that she wanted. She inhaled a deep breath and exhaled through her nose, taking a small sip of hot cocoa from a mug she filled a minute before. “Yeah, Lucky was brilliant in the chambers. Who knew he had it in him?” she asked, giving the tiniest of shrugs. She wasn't going to knock the Hufflepuff's skills or make his wins anything less than. He really did give her a tough couple of matches!
“The question is, are you going to be woman enough to acknowledge Lucky's strengths when he knocks you off your broomstick?” she replied with a passive aggressive giggle at the lip of her mug, taking another drink of her hot beverage. She didn't think Nyx was capable of such actions. She and Amara Seabrook were identical in that way. They were full of themselves, unable to accept defeat and concede when appropriate. Tiana looked to Jade as she let the question linger, hoping that her best friend wasn't upset, but she seemed to be just fine.
She decided to ignore the comments Nyx made about Professor Hathmore and the incident last night. It was a can of worms that Tiana had no interest opening. At least not now and not in the presence of Jade. She didn't want to make things anymore awkward than they already were.. especially after Katherine Maples showed up. You could feel the discontent radiating off the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain in waves. The last time Tiana interacted with Nyx and Kat, they were ganging up on her with Amara. So she minded her business, ignoring the Slytherin.
When Jade extended the offer of doing breakfast together again, except next time having Nyx at the Gryffindor table, Tiana whined a little.. but it was hardly audible. If she was listening hard enough, only Jade could hear it. But after a second thought, the idea had its perks! Nyx would have to sit with the likes of Jacob and Ronan too, and Tiana knew her boys were rough around the edges, especially when hungry. So Tiana agreed, knowing it would be entertaining.
“Yeah, you're more than welcome to sit with us next time!” Tiana said with a little too much excitement, grinning from ear to ear. Tiana beamed at her friend, hoping to show a sincere expression, but if Jade knew Tiana at all, she had to have known there was a motive. When the food started to disappear, Tiana stood and motioned for Jade to come along. “Thank you for having us,” she said a little less enthusiastic than before, before heading out of the Great Hall.. hopefully with her best friend behind her. Tiana was off to make plans for Gryffindor's tryouts!

All she could do was roll her eyes. Why was Tiana Thomas suddenly so pro–Luckett Langford? Were the two rival captains dating now? The thought of the two of them together turned her stomach, but Nyx could also see the likelihood of it. They were both just as intolerable as the other, so perhaps it would be a match made in heaven. "Now, why would I acknowledge something that's not going to happen?" she retorted with confidence, before nibbling on a strawberry. Nordstrom believed herself too quick for any of Langford's hypothetical efforts.
The rest of her time spent with her cousin and her cousin's best friend was uneventful. Nyx liked having spent some quality time with Jade, but wasn't necessarily thrilled that her peers witnessed her sharing space with Tiana Thomas. When the invitation arose to join them at the Gryffindor table another morning, Nyx kept a calm exterior, although inside she was deeply distressed. Tiana Thomas' company was one thing, but having to sit with the rest of her band of idiots? No thank you. "Sure, we can plan it for another time," she said in reply to Jade.
Whether or not she'd actually plan the breakfast with Gryffindor was debatable, but for now, she left it as an open possibility. Suddenly, the food began to disappear from the Ravenclaw spread and that meant it was time to go. Thank goodness, too. Nordstrom didn't know how much longer she could bare sitting across from Thomas. She hadn't ever risen so quickly either, already beginning to gather her things when the two girls shared their parting words. Nyx offered a congenial smile toward Jade, before making an exit for her morning class.

'Good with pranks?' Lucky shook his head, wagging a finger at her. 'No, no, sweetness. I'm brilliant with them.' He beamed with pride, adjusting the collar of his Hufflepuff robes. Now, even though Ruby Farrowbrooke could rightfully claim starting the food fight a couple nights back, it was he who pushed her to do so. He always had a thumb on most practical jokes -- was usually involved in some way. He couldn't claim the glitter gag though. That wasn't his.
Kat started to ramble about friendships and other feminine frivolities. Why did girls get hung up on the silliest of things? Normally, Sophia Rhynhart was an ideal sidekick for something like this, but after her reaction to the Slytherin prefect, he didn't think it'd be a great idea. 'Let's put a pin in accomplices for right now.' He didn't give a reason, but he figured why add anyone else? They could do it themselves. Too many cooks in the kitchen always spoils the broth.
'I'll mull over some more plausible ideas and get back to you.' He tapped at his chin with his index finger, visibly thinking over some antics. 'But I like the way you think. I didn't take you for a prankster.' Lucky flashed her a grin, his white teeth visible in all their vibrant glory. Lucky started to walk off in the opposite direction, before turning around to address Kat a final time. 'And I'm doing this with the promise of a massage.' He winked at her, making his departure.
Ronan was just chilling at the moment, figuring he could gain some sustenance and maybe some energy. He knew he needed energy right now given the day ahead and well, everything in between. The table felt a little empty so far without Tiana around, which was a bigger bummer than he would have liked but they could certainly figure something out. He thought to himself... Something to get the gang all here and liven it up. Who knows? Maybe Tiana would get her butt over here and inject some life into this place soon enough, who was to say?!
Then he heard Jacob's words, nodding at his friend. Before eventually considering what he'd said. Tiana heading to the Ravenclaw table? "Did she seem a bit... scared like they had something or someone she loved held hostage?" He asked curiously, wondering what they had on her because that seemed almost entirely out of character for their fearless leader? He contemplated this for a moment, mulling it over before looking over at Jacob. She could handle herself but still, odd for her to head in that direction... Really odd as a matter of a fact.
Once he heard Jacob again, he turned his attention back to him and nodded. "Nah, too much work." He said with a laugh. "Have fun." He saluted his pal, then he finished things off and headed off himself. Maybe he could catch up with Tiana somewhere and see what was up? Who knew? But he finished things off and now he hopped up from the table, heading out of the great hall himself. Long day ahead, he thought to himself as he sighed.
