Hanna dawdled into the great hall, the aroma of fresh food filling her nose and causing her stomach to grumble. She had skipped dinner last night in favour of getting a few more hours of sleep, although she hated herself for it she was also grateful especially after hearing about the food fight.
The fourth year scanned her house table before she turned to the Hufflepuff table, her eyes landing on Elara who seemed to be getting to know her housemates. A sigh fell from her lips as she made her way towards Elara, they didn't really get to speak much yesterday and Hanna still felt she owed her friend an explanation.
Her footsteps slowed as she came up behind her friend, her ears automatically picking up their conversation; Had he instigated the food fight? Did the Hufflepuff's start it? Hanna shook her head as Professor Sprout made her way towards the table, slipping in between her friend and the Hufflepuff boy.
"Hey"
She whispered to Elara as she listened into the Professor's and 'Langford's' conversation, so he was their new captain? About time they got themselves one. Hanna scowled at his smugness, he needed to be taken down a peg or two; maybe a dare? She had been wanting to do one for a while and this could be her chance to kill two birds with one stone.
As the oh so great 'Luckett' shouted his victory speech the Slytherin girl thought about a dare she could do, she could fake an illness and pretend to give it to him, that could be pretty funny? but it'd also be really annoying to keep up the act. Her eyes focused on the table as a dare came to mind, reaching a hand forward she grabbed a jar of peanut butter from the array of food,
'She couldn't actually do this right? It'd be embarrassing… but it'd also be funny...'
A blush fell onto her cheeks as she waited for the new captain to sit back down, when he finally did she took a glob of peanut butter and smeared it across his cheek before quickly licking it away,
"Congrats, Captain"
Hanna whispered as she pulled back before quickly turning her back and looking at Elara, her cheeks now bright red.
OOC: Sorry I didn't ask before licking your face, I should've asked just in case you weren't down.

Genevieve entered the Great Hall for breakfast, looking very much to be still asleep. The young girl had not gone to bed till quite late due to the party, besides even when she finally went to bed... Due to her excitement, sleep refused to come to her. Gen seated herself on the table, pouring herself a cup of tea, liberally filled with several spoonfuls of sugar before taking a sip. She let out a loud long yawn and it took her a few moments to realise that there was an owl trying to get her attention.
Sleepily she stroke the owl as she fumbled for the letter attacked to it's leg. The small redhead opened the letter after a few moments, her blue eyes flicked back and forth across the parchment as she read the letter from home. It took her two attempts before she was awake enough for the contents to sink in. It was always good to hear from home, Genevieve folded the parchment up and pocketed it. With a weak smile, she pulled a bowl towards her and filled it with some cornflakes. Another yawn escaped the Grynffindor who appeared for all the world to be about to fall asleep in her seat.
Wandering into the Great Hall, Rubes saw there were already plenty of students enjoying breakfast. As she sat herself down at the Hufflepuff table, the Farrowbrooke family owl landed beside her. There was a letter clasped tightly in the owl's beak.
"A letter from home. Thanks, Fontain, I'll open it after breakfast." Fontain hooted and flew away.
Settling into her seat, Rubes helped herself to some eggs on toast and checked her schedule for the day. Whilst the morning was free, the afternoon was taken up with her first flying lesson. What fun that would be! She's never been on a broom before!
"Good morning, my fellow Puffs, hope you all slept well. Anything interesting happening this morning?"

He looked at Ryan. "Are you any good at flying, Ryan?" Maybe he could help him beforehand. Gerald had never flown before, but it seemed at least a useful skill.
Blinking with surprise, he noted just how free their morning was. If he had realised this beforehand, he'd have slept in. "I don't really have anything planned, maybe we could try having a study session?" Maybe they could try doing some more dares?
Gerald liked spending time with Ryan, maybe he could get all his friends together? It could be fun, right?
Kat woke up to soggy slime filled pocket because she let Patrica sleep with her. Of course the house elves that did the laundry were probably use to this by now, but it was still gross to any onlookers. However Kat didn’t mind she took the good, the bad and the ugly when it came to her Baby Patrica.
Once she was awake Kat jumped out of bed and set Patrica down in order to get ready for the day. She stripped out of her pajamas grabbing her school clothes on the way to the dormitory bathrooms, leaving a trail of dirty clothes in her wake. By the time she got in front of the mirror she was fixing her tie and brushing her hair. Kat was very efficient in her movements.
Once she was satisfied on how she looked she picked up her dirty clothes and looked outside to see the weather. ’Eh rain, and I need to collect ingredients to prove to Professor Snape that i can use the student Laboratory!’ Kat sighed knowing she probably was going to get wet. She grabbed her robes and book bag but she just threw her rob over her shoulder. She was planning to just wear it when she had to go outside, after all her first class was Herbology and who knew what kind of plant they would be dealing with today?
Kat grabbed her gloves and placed Patrica in her book bags’s pocket and then made her way out of the dorm room. Kat made her way to the Great Hall and upon reaching it she noticed that everyone seemed to be getting mail. ’Not me,’ She thought sullenly.
She spotted Nyx sitting with Mathias and after last night Kat wasn’t sure she wanted to sit by the fifth years of her own house. She made her way to their table passing the Hufflepuff table on her way. They seemed to be celebrating something, she snagged a croissant off their table and started eating it before she sat next to her friend.
”So what’s going on you two?” Kat said speaking to both of them. She didn’t really know Mathias that well but a friend on Nyx was a friend of Kat.
Yesterday had been a blast from start to finish. Tiana's housemates ended the night by throwing her a bash in the common room and it wound up an event she'd never forget. She spent the night dancing until she physically couldn't anymore, practically needing assistance to her dormitory when the celebration died down. While last night was the definition of a great time, this morning was the opposite. Tiana's feet were dragging slowly, her eyes heavy with weariness. Maybe breakfast would help her shake the sleepiness, but she deeply doubted it.
Thomas sluggishly entered the Great Hall, shielding her eyes from any light. She needed more rest and it weighed heavily on her mind, so heavily that a headache began to form behind her eyes. She walked to the Gryffindor table and flopped lazily onto the bench, not even noticing that she ended up beside Ronan. She heard a good deal of commotion at the Hufflepuff table but was too tired to even attempt to find out what it was about. “This morning is a rough one,” she muttered, holding her head together as if it were falling apart into a hundred tiny pieces.
She finally looked up to see Abigail Maples sitting across from her and flashbacks from the night before came back in waves. “Fun night last night. Wouldn't you say, Abs?” she asked with a pathetic smile. Just by looking at her you could tell she was tired, but Tiana was going to do her best to overcome it. She served herself some pancakes and cut them at punitive angles; her movements were slow. Tiana made doleful jabs at the pieces with her fork, as she looked at the Daily Prophet in front of her. “Anything interesting?” she asked before reading herself.

Post by Luckett Langford on Sept 19, 2019 7:53:49 GMT 10
Lucky loved any and all attention that others showered upon him; the good and the bad. And with the honor of becoming captain, he expected some sort of immediate consolation prize. And boy, did it come. Langford dropped to his seat after his announcement, only to be greeted with a handful of peanut butter to the face. 'What the --' he managed, before a tongue lashed him. He just became captain and people were already attacking him with food and affection?
He swung his neck around to view the culprit, instantly spotting the younger Slytherin. He didn't know her, but thought he had seen her around before. 'Cheeky little thing, aren't you?' He asked, fingering the rest of the spread from his face. 'Dare or not, I don't blame you. I am pretty insatiable.' He grinned, tasting the smooth substance from his own finger. He shrugged, approving of the flavor. He preferred his peanut butter to have a crunch -- but it wasn't bad.
After all the excitement, Lucky was thirsty. He turned his attention toward the breakfast spread and helped himself to more juice from his goblet. Without looking at her directly, he spoke to Elara. 'Is she a friend of yours?' He knew the Slytherin was there, but he didn't know her. He did know Elara King to an extent, so he expected some sort of introduction. 'Usually a girl takes me on a date before tonguing my face.' Lucky joked, his eyes beaming in their direction.
"Of course not" Elara replied in an equally overly dramatic fashion in response to Luckett's denial of his involvement in the previous nights food fight. He could deny it all he wanted, but she knew the truth- if he wanted to play dumb then that was him. At his question, she picked up a piece of bacon from her plate and began to nibble at it "It's a little hard to sleep when your stomach is empty" she wasn't mad, not really- there was plenty of time to make up for her lack of supper (providing no one else attempted to start another food fight).
The familiar screeching owls alerted Elara to the arrival of the morning post and her gaze flicked up to watch the ceiling as dozens of birds flew overhead. A copy of the daily prophet landed in front of her, but today she didn't receive any mail from home. A little disappointed at not receiving a letter from her family, she turned her attention to the prophet and began to hurriedly read through the latest news.
She was pleased to see that Quidditch was the leading story of the day, although she wasn't a supporter of the Scottish team, the Colwyn Crossbills, the excited chatter of those around her told her that they had their fair share of fans at Hogwarts. She was particularly interested in the news of the Magnora broom- what she wouldn't give to possess such a broom, unfortunately she doubted her parents would be willing to fork out the cash to buy her one, even if she made the Hufflepuff team this year.
Closing the paper as she heard a familiar voice close to her ear and shifted over slightly to give Hanna room to sit beside her. "Hey" she returned the greeting, her gaze flashing in concern at the appearance of her friend. They hadn't had a chance to speak properly after their defence against the dark arts class the previous day and she was interested in getting to the bottom of other girls distress.
However, before she could begin getting to the bottom of it, the table around them began to quieten and she herself drew quiet as she realised that Professor Sprout was nearing their section of the table. Their head of house stopped opposite Luckett and Elara smiled as the implication of the conversation sank in. Finally, a new Quidditch captain. That meant the Quidditch season would soon be upon them and with it try-outs.
Elara opened her mouth to congratulate her housemate once he'd taken his seat again but before she'd even had the opportunity to get the words out, she watched as Hanna smeared peanut butter across his cheek and then- AND THEN- proceeded to lick the substance from the boys cheek. Elara stared, her mouth hanging open in a mixture of shock and revulsion.
Luckett's response only made things worse. Was he flirting? No, no, no, NO. This was not happening. "Suddenly, I'm not very hungry" she muttered, pushing her plate away from her forcibly and fixing a glare on her friend. One of accusation. At Luckett's question, she tried to turn her attention back to the new Quidditch captain and forced a pained smile "Hm... How would you define friend, because right now I'd say she's more of an acquaintance"
It wasn't the reaction Hanna was expecting but she couldn't really be surprised, even an idiot could tell he was an arrogant boy especially after his speech. Hanna forced her blush down and turned to the boy, a smirk pulling at her lips as her eyes locked with his.
"You-"
Hanna's words were cut of as her friend spoke, a small laugh falling from her lips as she looked over her shoulder. "Don't be so dramatic, Lara. I'm just having some fun" Her focus turning back to Luckett as she spoke, throwing him a wink as the last word left her lips.
"The name's Hanna, Hanna Grey and I'm not like every other girl"
The smirk was still present on the Slytherins face as she replied to his last comment before turning to the food in front of her; her stomach rumbling once again and reminding her of the lack of food she had eaten the previous day. Hanna quickly made herself a plate of pancakes, covering them with whipped cream and strawberries before drizzling some syrup over the top and digging in.
A small smudge of cream covered the tip of her nose, "Wanna help me out, Captain?" she giggled out as she turned to look at the boy next to her, a twinkle in her eye.

Munching happily on her plate of eggs on toast, Rubes started hearing talk of Lucky becoming Quidditch captain. She scanned the table until she spotted the back of her older friend's head.
Helping herself to a goblet of juice, Rubes waited for Lucky's reply. She was certainly glad the Hufflepuff team finally had a new captain. Hopefully, they'd do well during this year's Quidditch season.

Lucky just raised his eyebrows at the fourth years, clearly entertained by them. One seemed seemed thoroughly repulsed by the entire exchange, while the other appeared to be enjoying the interaction. 'Hello, Hanna Grey. I'm sure you already know, but I'm Lucky Langford.' He flashed his best smile, all teeth and glinting eyes. 'The pleasure is all yours, I'm sure.' Despite his astonishing arrogance, he oftentimes came across oddly charming, maybe even intriguing.
He took a moment to admire his new badge, before pinning it to the front of his robes. The emblem made him feel special, better than the others. He felt proud. He felt important. Lucky liked feeling important. Becoming the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain had been a dream of his, for as long as he could remember, and he knew the position would bring him responsibilities.
'Hanna, you realize you're supposed to eat that stuff, not inhale it.' He commented on her situation, traces of a grin forming along his mouth. Lucky leaned toward her, his face only a breath away. His actions suggested he was going to lick the dollop of cream from her nose. 'You should really clean that up. What would Slytherin think?' He whispered, instead opting to wipe the substance from her face with a napkin. He chuckled, turning back to face the table.
Langford speared a few breakfast potatoes and dropped them on his plate. However, before he could indulge, he heard a familiar voice call to him. He turned to face Farrowbrooke, his eyes lighting up at her suggestion. 'I like the way you think, Rubes.' He smirked, waving his fork at her. 'That is why you're on the fast track to becoming one of our most memorable Badgers.'

Mathias straightened in his seat when he spotted Nyx. He tucked away the Daily Prophet he'd been reading - as curious as he was to finish the article about the decline in Saint Mungo recruitments, after having caught up on the Quidditch news and sought anything new about the daymoth outbreak. She was much more interesting right now than all of that.
'Thank you, mi'lady.' Mathias accepted the book, giving it a brief check over out of habit. He was right about Nyx; she could certainly be entrusted with his books. 'No, I've not finished it yet. I do look forward to it.' He didn't comment further, not sure he wanted to reveal any shortcomings regarding his inability to focus on written words for long periods of time.
He finished his breakfast and gave Nyx his full attention, shifting closer to her on the seat to peer at her own copy of the Prophet. He should have kept his out, but couldn't be bothered extracting it from his stuffed pocket when hers was right there. 'I have, yes.' He nodded. 'Quite interesting too, I must say.'
Oh, she meant the broomstick part. 'It's pretty cool that Magnora's only in Hogsmeade. Pretty close by. Imagine the poor owl who has to deliver it from halfway around the world.' Mathias sipped his pumpkin juice, regarding Nyx thoughtfully as she tinkered with her badge.
'Are you...' He hoped it wouldn't sound terribly rude. 'Pardon me, but do you think your family would get one for you? Or are you planning to save up yourself? Not that it's any of my business.' Mathias wanted to explain why he asked, but decided against it. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything at all. What if Nyx thought he was prying or something awful? He fiddled with the corner of his timetable to avoid making eye contact.
Thankfully, they were joined by one of Nyx's friends - Kat Maples. 'Morning,' he said politely. 'Not much, really. Have you read the Prophet?' Mathias asked, indicating to Nyx's copy that he couls easily read over her shoulder from where he sat. He tucked the book away in his bag, realising too late that he could have just put his own newspaper copy in there rather than his busy pocket. Why did this always happen?

Avery ducked an owl that wasn't a particularly good flier, grumbling at the extra activity going on around her. Lonely as they'd been, she almost missed morning meals at home when it was quiet and not at all busy. After the glitter prank and then food fight, she was prepared to swear off eating in the Great Hall entirely.
At least there was the Daily Prophet to read, though she quickly lost interest. Lindsey didn't tell her to go away and was still being weirdly nice, so that was something. Avery opened her mouth to ask about the team, but was interrupted by a letter being dropped in front of her. She saw her father's handwriting, and her eyes widened in dread. Oh no, what did he have to tell her about now?
Stupid moths. Avery growled, glaring at the Allenmyer wax seal. She was tempted to read it, but had been enjoying herself more lately than usual and didn't want his lectures ruining it. She got out her wand, then sighed and put it away. She didn't know any good spells yet - not even a fire-making one. That would be really useful. For now, she scrunched it up tight and stuffed it into a jug of juice. The dark ink and orange juice merged into a rather gross mess.
Arms crossed grumpily over the table, Avery rested her chin there and glared at a crumb by her goblet. She ignored Lindsey after that, and anyone else around her. She didn't care. Her day was still ruined; she just wanted to go back to bed and bury herself under the covers.
Post by Ryan Barrow on Sept 20, 2019 3:38:55 GMT 10
Ryan tried to read the newspaper that almost got dropped in his breakfast, but a lot of it didn't make sense to him at all. He sighed, putting it away and wondering what Quidditch was like or if they really could encounter some scary moths. He stared up at the ceiling and was actually glad it was raining, though hoped it didn't last into the afternoon when they had their outdoor lesson.
'I don't know.' Ryan shrugged at Gerald's question. 'I've never been on a broom before. Have you? Is it hard?' He fidgeted, both nervous and excited about their upcoming lesson. At least there was a lesson, and he wasn't expected to just know all that stuff already.
'Studying?' Ryan pulled a face. 'We have all this free time and you want to study? Are you mad?' He rolled his eyes, shaking his head in disbelief but not unkindly.
It was a weird thing to want to do, even though Ryan had considered doing something like that when waiting for Gerald the day before. Maybe it wasn't so weird, then. He was anxious about falling behind in their classes, but he also just wanted to do something fun today.
Post by Sophia Rhynhart on Sept 20, 2019 3:49:22 GMT 10
Sophia yawned, slowly making her way into the Great Hall for breakfast. She'd slept in a bit, which was ideal, but still hadn't wanted to get up. There were probably things she had to do or whatever, so as a student she had little choice than to be awake at stupid times.
She reached the Hufflepuff table, just as a Slytherin nicked a croissant from them. 'Oi,' Sophia mumbled but then waved a dismissive hand. Whatever, let her have it. Most food at the Slytherin table were probably poisoned to some degree anyway.
She stopped and stared at Lucky having peanut butter on his face. Sophia made a hmmfph sound and shrugged, sitting beside him. She felt not much could surprise her anymore, much less so regarding any of the Hufflepuff boys from her class. If Lucky and Kier ever teamed up, she'd either join them in their chaos or go into hiding.
Yawning wide, Sophia eyed the food before piling eggs and bacon on her plate. She glanced at the Daily Prophet, and almost scared a nearby second-year half to death with her yell of alarm. 'Merlin's Underpants, have you seen this?' She practically thrust the newspaper at Lucky's face. Whatever came next was anyone's guess, as Sophia battled in excitement and theories regarding the news.
'I have to get one of those brooms. I'll break into Gringotts if I have to. I mean, probably not, but still.' Sophia stared wide-eyed at the article, absorbing as much information as she could. 'What do you...' She paused, having noticed something on Lucky's robes catching the light.
With a squeal of delight, Sophia moved to lunge at Lucky in hope of hugging him. 'You did it. You did it. I told you, didn't I? You're captain, oh wow...Wait, does that make you my boss now?' She retreated, pulling a face at him. Thankfully, she was already on the team and had retained her position despite the previous captain resigning.
All the excitement over Quidditch had certainly woken her up. Sophia grabbed a fork and devoured her eggs, her mind buzzing as she tried to process it all. This was the best start to the day ever! Well, minus the rain she'd just noticed was happening but whatever.
