“The haunted toilets? I’ve wanted to check those out.” Nathan agreed, never having investigated that part of the castle before, “I could think of no better place to spend the morning than the girls’ toilets.”
Nathan laughed briefly at the ridiculousness of it all, then tilted his head towards the doors, “No time like the present then.”
Nathan hadn’t spent much time with Lucas, but he had always wanted to. He had seen Lucas interacting with Amara off and on, and he was under the impression they were friends. While he bore no ill-will towards Amara, the girl and her reputation made him nervous, even though they’d never been at odds, he had been wary of spending time with her friends for concern he’d wind up on her radar.
Still, it seemed like more and more of their year was gravitating towards Amara, and he wasn’t about to spend his remaining years in isolation, so it was time to reach out and expand his horizons.
“I’ll lead the way.” Nathan offered, moving towards the door.
Lailee was silent as Becca and Mathias made plans, feeling like she was intruding on their plans and hating it. She rolled her eyes when Becca boasted she had been right out Mathias, then started walking towards the door as soon as Becca mentioned going to the Savannah. “Come on, Becca...let’s not waste any time.” she said impatiently, wanting to capitalize on every moment she could spend alone with her friend before they were joined by the boy she didn’t know and hadn’t quite made up her mind on.
