Professors finished conversation and began to leave the Great Hall via side doors. Food vanished from the tables, officially concluding lunch. Chatter was low as most students headed out to prepare for their afternoon activities.
Class threads are now available. Everyone else has free time until dinner.
Thomas nearly snorted pumpkin juice out of his nose when Jacob half-choked on the yogurt. Not only was it funny to see his best friend nearly choke on a liquid, but the prefect’s face as they watched on was almost as good as seeing the Slytherins all riled up.
“History of Magic, with that new Professor. Uh, Archemoss or something,” Thomas said once Jacob had regained his breath. He knew that the Professor’s name was definitely not Archemoss, but he didn’t care to recall what it actually was either. All he cared about was the fact that Binns wouldn’t be teaching the subject anymore.
He snorted at Jacob’s comment about faking his own death to get out of Potions class. Thomas had contemplated the very same thing multiple times over the past five years. Like Jacob though, he’d always assumed that even death wouldn’t get him out of that class.
When the food disappeared, and everyone began to make their way out of the Great Hall, Thomas took the time stretch. Once he was sure Jacob was ready, he stood up and fell into step beside him as they made their way to their afternoon class.
